That 250 GT SWB Berlinetta is one of the most beautiful cars of all time, I hope it finds a good home. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I got a chance to preview Orin Smith's collection and it was an incredible treat. In general, I'm not a big fan of that era or style of cars, but these cars in particular where so impeccable they should not be missed. And they're being sold at NO RESERVE! It will make for a great auction. You could spend hours up at Amelia just looking at this guy's cars. Every little detail was considered. He was a true collector that loved cars. To see them all sitting quietly under one roof, almost as if they were wondering when their owner would return, was a great treat. (Thanks!) This gentleman truly did have great taste and having the best of the best was clearly incredibly important to him. Again, not a huge Rolls and Bentley fan, per se, but to see these giant beasts in their original form and built with such incredible detail and precision gave me a new perspective and appreciation for these great beauties that will be cherished for hundreds of years into the future.
I just finally had a look at the online brochure for the upcoming RM Sotheby's Amelia Island Auction and I must say that there is an outstanding line up of Ferrari's at the auction, starting with a beautiful Rosso 550 Maranello to what I have read elsewhere was boxer Mike Tyson's F50. That's going to be one to watch, and possibly even bid on. Hopefully they'll have a YouTube feed Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
104220 was indeed originally delivered to Mike Tyson! It's in great shape too, just had a look around it yesterday. You'll be able to catch the auction on our website at 5pm March 10th, and 11am March 11th. Good luck bidding!
has the Ferrari 550 had a Major, belts, and sticky bits, how is the steering rack, and shrinking on the dash, are the head lights still fine with the rubber seals, what about when were the Motor mounts updated, and new ECU updates. Without these you are looking at over $20,000. Thanks, John
I assume you're referring to the 550 Maranello, not the Barchetta? The Maranello just had its major with belts and any issues addressed recently. We had a PPI done so give our specialist Barney a call and he'll be able to walk you through everything in more detail. His number is +1 203 912 7168 Thanks John
Great set of cars. The F50 is to die for. F1 engine mounted to a carbon fiber tub with a manual transmission. And you can take the top off. What's not to like? -F
Just for information, how does it come that the testarossa is quoted for 428 hp? I thought the latest testarossa had rather 380 hp (the early ones having 390 hp) while 428 hp is more looking like the power of a 512 TR.
For other sellers here. PAY ATTENTION, this is the way to address questions in the body of an ad. Professional and on point. (Oh, and they're actually listening and changed a listing based on input here.) There's lots to learn from an industry leader, these guys do it right. D

Not a Ferrari but my father's Mirage is at the event this weekend... V12 4 liter motor. Only 3 examples ever made, 1 crashed and gone, 1 had its top chopped off to make it a convertible. He isn't auctioning it yet, just showing it. Open to offers though... We are trying to get an F40 LM... but doesn't sound like any are available at this event. Feel free to have your father speak to one of our specialists at the auction. We would be more than happy to arrange both the purchase and sale of vehicles privately and might even be able to track down an F40 LM for him. Thanks!
Just for quick reference to you or anyone else who may be interested in how the cars sold, all of the results can be viewed by clicking on the links in the original post. If the estimate is still displayed then the car did not meet reserve.
