    1977 Ferrari 308 GTB
    Rosso Chairo / Black
    Vin # 21899
    Miles: 46,738
    Asking Price: $105,900

This Ferrari model, unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in 1975 and first produced from 1976 to 1979 as a carbureted version, the sleek Pininfarina design with the famous 3.0-liter quad-cam dual distributor 90-degre V-8 motor, breathing through four twin-choke Weber carburetors delivering 255 HP, with the most desirable being the 1976 and 1977 due to their lack of Emissions and more aggressive cams. These cars were extremely well balanced and extremely fun to drive.

In our car, you are looking at 46,738 miles, extremely well maintained example of a 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB. At the end of February 2017, this car went through an extensive major service, that included all belts, hoses, wires, clamps, gaskets along with a host of other misc. items to bring its mechanical level up to an extremely high standard. All 4 carburetors were rebuilt and set in synch at this time as well. A compression test was performed also, with all cylinder numbers reading nicely between 154 and 158 (see service receipt from major). All major engine components have been refinished to the correct standard to give the engine bay a very fresh look to go along with its new mechanicals. Please see the photos posted at the bottom of the engine work being performed and the service receipt that accompanies it.

This example is believed to be a 3-owner car, with some ownership receipts dating back to 1984. It comes with its original Schedoni Owners Pouch and 1977 308 Owner’s Manual, complete jack kit with spare light bulb holder, compete tool kit, emergency light with pouch and binder with service receipts.

As you can see by the photos, the car shows extremely well and has been looked after and cared for. The paint is in excellent overall condition and I would rate it an 8. It was clearly repainted in the original color several years ago. There are a few small chips that have been touched up, but they are minor and the paint shows well. In addition, there is absolutely no rust on the vehicle and all the body panels are straight. The wheels, which have been upgraded to the factory 16” wheels (in place of the factory 14” wheels), have been refinished and shod with brand new BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp TA.

As an all original interior, as the pictures show, it has a very nice patina and shows very little wear on any of the leather or components which still look crisp and clean. Everything works as it should and feels like it was intended to. Other than a set of new speakers in the factory openings and a new set of floor mats, everything else is original.
This example would be a benchmark car for a Ferrari enthusiast to add to their garage as an investment, or for someone just looking for collectible Ferrari to enjoy. These cars are still obtainable and are increasing in value quickly.

The car is located in Northern New Jersey and is available to be seen or test driven at any time. If you have an interest, please call or e-mail:

    GLWS!

I hope you get the ask!

    ANSA exhaust is a plus.
You see the original sized spare in the trunk, with the OEM tire.
Those are Vitaloni Baby Turbo door mirrors, I use them myself, as they are better than the smaller ovals in adjustment range for a taller driver.

All the various bits are there.
Someone has kept this car well, since 1977

    Falls right into my VIN range...20405 ('76), 22127, 22641 ('77s)

Can you share the rest of the VIN? Is this us or Euro car?

Do you also have the original set of rims?

    Hello,

It is a US car. I believe the whole whole vin is the 5 digit 21899. The US didn't require 17 digits until several years later, but I will check the title on Monday and confirm. It is a clean NJ title.

As for the 14" wheels, unfortunately I don't have them.

    Thanks for your interest.

I'm working on 22641 now, and hope I can get close to how beautifully you have restored this car. It looks amazing, and I realize I have a way to go. Thank you for sharing such amazing shots of this car. You are correct on the VIN, there are only 5 digits, so nothing else to give. I had an issue with mine getting the title due to a stolen Harley that had my same 22641, must be why they finally changed it. Someone is going to get a fantastic car.

Thank you everyone, for your kind words regarding the car. I thought I would add a video of the car on the road in motion.

On carbed 308, only the very last batch of Right Hand Drive UK cars (about fifteen) got the full 17-position VIN. All others carbed 308 have only a five digit chassis number. All two-valve injected cars, succeeding the carbed cars on the production line, have a full 17 digit VIN.
