This will be an excellent road test once the F12 is available for it. I have to admit, even as a Ferrari fan, I'd take the Lambo over the F12 without thinking twice. Its much more exotic looking, sits lower, and has the engine in the middle.

Then again, maybe the better comparison will be the next Enzo vs the Aventador.

Rumors say F12 PS/S2 have been clocked under 19 seconds on 1 Km standing start. Speed exit at 290 km/h
So may be the F12 is not looking exotic as the Aventador but it will be hard to beat in terms of pure acceleration.

+1. I tried to think of the possibilities but came up short.

Something with power start? No idea really.

Cool, I love me a test of a front engined GT touring car compared to a mid-rear engined motorized codpeice built for no other reason than to look amazing and make sexy noises...

...after that the Ferrari F12 Compared To Things Not Even Remotely In The Same Segment Of The Marketplace series will continue when they put the F12 up against the 2013 Ford Fiesta, the 2012 Cadillac CTS-V, the 2012 Toyota Tundra, the '73 Mercury Marquis and the 1929 Auburn 8/90 Boattail Speedster.

I have to disagree. I liked the Aventador when it first came out, however, the more I look at it, the more it reminds me of a Gallardo but larger. The F12 is exactly what a GT should look like and I think its one Ferrari's best. F12 all they way!

After development done with prototypes the pre-production is organized in two phases
    1) VP (or S1 more common with american carmakers) = Process Verification
    2) PS (or S2) = Pre-Serie

In this 2nd phase the pre-production cars are almost in the final customer specs

    Cheers

The F12 is, as a frontengined GT, a typical Ferrari.
The Aventador is, as a midengined supercar, a typical Lamborghini.

Really no point in comparing the two. They are for completely different audiences.

I'd do just the reverse, without thinking. The Lambo would be a weekend special for me. F12, everyday, all day, any time or place.

Besides, the Aventador doesn't really sound like a Lambo V12 any more. I think the Germans lost its soul somewhere in their pursuit of numbers. It sounds good, don't get me wrong, just not that Lambo V12 baritone that used to sound much better than any Ferrari. Now every Ferrari sounds as good or better.

And the Enzo replacement will apparently be going against Bugatti, Kon-egg and Pagani. It's rumored to have 920HP, 7.3 V12 and have real F1 tech like the KERS. Ferrari's taking off the gloves, which they should.

    Forza,

The comparisons are inevitable and to be honest they should be compared, differences considered in the comparison.

I'm curious to see how close the F12 comes to the Lambo's times. The Aventador was built to have the best numbers, especially in a straight line, for its price segment. The F12 has several goals.

Should be a good one. Maybe Ron Dennis will have something to throw in the mix once he's seen everyone else's performance figures. lol

    Forza,

    Cavallini

I'd like to see both side by side in person.

The Aventador looks amazing in person, and hopefully the F12 will as well :)

I would be nice to see Road & Track do one of their classic king of the hill head to head battles like they did in the 80's (Countach vs. Boxer).

For the little I have seen of the F12 I prefer it to the Aventador....but you have a fantastic and beautiful car!

How is it to drive? Do you use it often?

I am a Ferrari fan but this time Aventador is a much better looking car. F12 is not even close in the looks department. That said I am sure F12 will be an amazing car with respect to performance.
