It doesn't feel like a sensible commercial name so maybe its to identify something from Special Projects
Seems like the most likely choice to me. They showed off the HY-KERS concept more than four years ago - it was only a matter of time before the hybrid tech made its way into the front-engined V12 family for real. Besides, "TRS?" It shares two-thirds of its acronym with "KERS." Now - who's gonna take a guess at what the "T" stands for?
If it indeed is a hybrid F12, I would say it's likely RS is an abbreviation for Recovery System. So the T should denote what that recovery system is a part of. Or it could be something Italian that I wouldn't have a clue about... The SP cars don't seem to ever use the model designation which they are based upon, so this one will be interesting to follow. Just thinking out loud...
Any idea if it will be an actual production model or if will it be something similar to the 599 HY-KERS concept from a few years ago?
That's a double confirmation from two highly respected sources. F12 with KERS it is. We'll have to keep the name guessing game going! Still pretty sure RS -> Recovery System.
