I know we are on a Ferrari forum but many here have probably had or driven both. If you had to pick one which would it be? I am looking at a 13' or 14' model.

FF every day every time every opportunity. To me the Vanquish feels very dated in comparison.

Going to take a closer look today. Never thought about having two F cars concurrently but I guess why not.

If your going to consider the Vanquish, you want a MY15 or later as the transmission was updated from the 6-speed to an 8-speed which makes a world of difference.

    Completely agreed.

A vanquish must be used once in a year, to drive from Hotel de Paris to Casino of Monte Carlo, wich is roughly 300 meters.

I haven't driven those cars, but it can be considered as a fact that the FF is daily usable monster, and that Aston Martins are beautiful cars, but have never been great performance sports car, at least compared to a ferrari.

Astons also have a bit of a reliability issue.

Yes the Aston in my opinion is stunning but the FF seems much more family friendly. I like the fact that it is kind of under the radar as well. I haven't driven either but will soon. I have a couple months to wait before pulling the trigger although I found a really nice one in TX priced right. It is just amazing to me how much value they have lost in a few years, I feel that there isn't too much more depreciation from $170k. I guess it can be considered a bargain at today's prices. :)

I got both Rapide S and FF, prefer the Aston as DD everyday.

    Reasons are:

    1. More quiet canbint in non sports mode compare with FF comfort mode.
    2. Same as above for the suspension, smoother ride in Aston.
    3. ZF 8 speed (or auto Tran, Vanquish has a 6 speed I believe) is smoother under low speed compare with dual clutch.
    4. B&O sounds system is much much better than the upgrade hifi in FF.
    5. Gas mileage. Aston v12 with auto tran should gets little better MPG, less gas station trip.
    6. And the last....the glass crystal key. Just feel special when you holding it or feel the weight in your pocket. The F key...ugh, feels like just normal MB key in red...

Either way both are great car, regardless which one I'm sure you will enjoy as DD!

The Vanquish feels very dated and the interior doesn't feel special at all. People say the tech is not great in the FF then go try a Vanquish.

    FF any day

We got both Rapide S and FF, for DD I would prefer Aston any day.

    1. More quiet cabinet compare between non-sport mode in Aston and Comfort in F car. Aston definitely is more ideal for nice business conversation while driving.
    2. The ZF8 (2014+ Vanquish) transmission is really smooth around town under low speed. Dual clutch in the FF is not bad either but still can't compare with simple automatic use as DD.
    3. Better MPG with the ZF8 trans, less trip to the gas station=time saving.
    4. Aston B&O sound system is much much better than the HiFi in FF.
    5. The last, the crystal glass key! It just feel special by just holding.

Both are great cars, can't go wrong either.

If tech is what you seeking for...dump both cars. FYI my DD is a EV, geeks car with all the tech :)

I am surprised to hear this, I really need to go check o ne out although i think i already made my decision to go with the FF. It suits me better as I need something that will be comfortable for 4.

Our of curiosity I just built a 17' Turbo S online and to get a decent spec'd car you are over $190K. This makes a 2-3 year old FF a no brainer.

That's a bit harsh. They have bespoke Ford built engines, but other than that there is not much in common between Astons and Fords.

All the new Astons will have Mercedes engines which should be an improvement

Not too sure about that. The costume made V8s and 12s were great motors.

As great as the FF is don't assume even at $170K ish there is not plenty of depreciation still to go. For reference check 456's and 612's. Both those 4 seaters have lost at least 3/4's of their original value over time. Realistically the bottom for FF's probably in the $80K to $100K range - so we're nowhere close yet.

If you can afford it still a great car to drive IMO.

    Best.

I don't see them going as low as $100k unless the economy goes bad. The FF has the Enzo V12 along with being the first 4WD so I think the values will hold better than the other models mentioned.

Why not? You think there is much more demand at $120-150k and prices will stay around that?
