What is a fair price for an entry level Richard Mille?
New? Pre-owned? Or the one Bubba Watson had on when he won the Masters? There is a dealer here in Chicago.
$525,000 actually: http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2012/4/9/bubba-watson-wins-the-masters-wearing-a-richard-mille-rm038.html Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now I can understand a ridiculous, revolutionary, very rare tourbillion watch costing $500,000. Even the new HW Opus 12, which i think has one of slickest movements around only comes in at $260,000! I just don't see the value of the RM038. Am I crazy?
I think a pre-owned 010 can probably be had for 35 - 40 cents on the retail dollar based on current MSRP. Or lower.
RM010 in Titanium preowned 25k. I have one id let got of if anyone is interested. Box and Papers. Lightly Worn. Great watch though..one of my favorite. Only selling because I got a rm011.
Exclusivity comes with a price. A Richard Mille wouldnt be a Richard Mille with out the price tag and Ferrari wouldnt be a Ferrari without the price tag. People want the best and people want exclusivity but they dont want to pay for it. They go hand in hand.
Correct however whereas Renaud & Papi (Audemars) are essentially making the Mille watches, I'd rather put the money towards an AP which would be less and not look like a cartoon watch. In my humble opinion, the style of the RM watches will not age well. I just don't see it being popular in another 10 years. Note: I will be the first to admit I said the same thing about Panerai....Oops.
