Has anyone here found and bought from a reputable source for vintage watches other than the several who do primarily Rolex?

I'd like to find a '50s or '60s JLC/LeCoultre or Omega with "matching numbers", etc., and the listings I've seen on eBay didn't inspire a lot of confidence.

    Wingate or Demesy in Texas.

    Gray and Sons in Florida.

    Paul Duggan in Boston.

I've also dealt with Wanna Buy A Watch - I think they are in LA.

You will have to keep pinging these guys and see what they have for vintage Omega and JLC. Not going to be easy to find someone who specializes in them.

Are their particular watches from either you are looking for?

    Thanks!

I'm particularly interested in the black-dialed Powermatic and Futurematic from JLC, but also like the early Seamasters with black dial.

None of those should be tough to nail down.

Not all Sea Masters are created equally - some have better movements than others. An original black dial, will be tough to track down. Careful with some of the more limited watches - like the 300. They are faked a lot.

The JLC's should be easy enough to track down. Treat it like a car - be patient and buy the right one.

Might want to check with the NAWCC and IWJG to see if they have any shows coming up in San Diego. You can walk the floor, meet the dealers, see the watches live etc. If you do that, bring cash.
