I have a 20 year anniversary re-issue that is pretty beat up.
I have never sent a watch to be serviced and possibly refurbished with factory parts so I am asking here. Thanks

FWIW, I asked my wife on your behalf and she recommended it. She is an AD and an Omega Ambassador.

I'd be curious what a service in the US would cost.
My 67 Speedy is at Omega in Biel getting a full service as we speak. I just laughed when I got the quote :)

Like anything else, it depends on the condition of the watch....

If you are able to send it through an authorized dealer, it should be faster. An Omega Boutique dealer told me that if they send it in, it goes to Seattle, if an individual sends it in, it goes somewhere else, and the wait is longer. I sent a warranty repair through the dealer (broken mainspring), and it was back in 10 days. On a Planet Ocean, the standard service took about 30 days through the dealer.

The standard full service on a Speedmaster through the dealer is $740: http://www.omegawatches.com/customer-service/watch-intervention/complete-maintenance-service

Factor in any new parts or other repairs in addition to that cost, but it comes back with a 2-year warranty.

Thanks so much guys! Mine will need the full treatment like the video shows. I bought it as a symbol that I "Made It" the first year I made over 100K. It was my dream watch for ever. I have had it 20 years and wore it daily for the first 10 so it is pretty thrashed with broken chrono, something must be bent or broken. I was thinking of fixing it up to entertain selling it but if I am dumping that much into it I will probably end up keeping it!!!!

There's a guy in Dallas that used to authorized to work on Omegas but he isn't any more. Not sure why. Chris at Valencia Time Center has a guy that works on them also, probably cheaper.

Price is as on the service list posted by Mule. It is considered a cat 4 very old caliber. I was just curious of the comparison between US service prices to Swiss prices.

How about a place in Orange County? Anyone trustworthy? Culver City is a bit far from OC.

I may be biased, but I have only had great experiences using the official stores to handle all the details.

Update: Thanks to the good folks who recommended the Omega store in Waikiki. I took it there a few months ago and just got it back yesterday. ~800 for the service and ~10 weeks. They sent it to Seattle and I got a few updates via email from my lovely sales person throughout the process. My watch was... thrashed. I wish i would have taken some pictures of it in it's "before" condition. It is basically brand new now! Really a small price to pay when you consider how many parts they replaced. I will let the pictures speak for themselves but I am a happy camper.

    Ouch.

My Speedy needs de-gunked, but that sounds painful.

And you get the nifty red case...

Glad it all worked out well. Keep all the little paperwork that came back with it for warranty. If it breaks under warranty, they will turn it around very fast, but hope you don't ever need to.
