Definitely ask on a watch forum like TimeZone.

I'm not 100% that newer dials will fit earlier models-- they would know. They may fit but with a gasket (like converting mineral to sapphire crystal) but that is considered a customization that Rolex will not do. Plenty who will, just not an AD.

You can always trade the watch towards the one you want.

    Best,

The dials have little feet on them that seat them to the movement. Since the watches have different movements, the feet are likely in different places and hence are not interchangeable.

Buy a non diamond dial that fits your watch. Have it refinished in the style you want and install that. Just keep the original dial in a very safe place until you need it again.

As someone else said, make sure you hang onto the original dial. Aftermarket dials, reduce the value of the watch, and Rolex will not work on watches with aftermarket dials. They will either require that you re-install the original dial, or they will not service your watch.

They don't "make" dial - they repaint original dials. Just like you could paint your car anyway you want, you can repaint a dial and apply numerals of any style.

Check out Kirk Rich in California. There are a bunch of others, so get recommendations. If you are on the Rolex forums, you might want to ask who has the hot hand in refinishing Rolex dials these days.

some companies require an exchange of dials. So you are effectively giving them a dial to refinish. This might require you buying a dial to send to them. Just don't trade in your original dial.
