"Overhaul" may be a bit of a stretch, but has anyone here done TAG's "major" ;) after 5 years of ownership? Thinking about sending my watch in. It's just under $600 for case refurbishment, link polish, detail, gaskets, cleaning, lube, etc... etc...

Is it worth it? Or is it something any decent watch shop can do for half the price?

I've been debating having this done for the last few years on my Carrera but have yet to follow through with it. Also, I believe that Tag Heuer extends the warranty an additional year or two after it has been completed which is a nice perk.

Any reputable, qualified, local watch maker should be able to handle this, no issue.

However, I have never found that person locally, so adding shipping and hassle, I always take to an AD for service.

I have a TAG Heuer Link.

I think I paid $1200 for it on a cruise ship like 10 years ago. Just paid $150 to a local jeweler for a new battery completely cleaning/service.
