Never heard of them giving discounts or negotiating.. Best bet for discount is to buy grey-market you can even buy most Cartier watches directly from Amazon who's an authorized retailer.

They sell them at Costco along with Tags, Brietling, and a few others.

I bought a Cartier watch from their boutique in Naples, Fl. $60,000.00 neighborhood. My local jeweler is a Cartier dealer but could not get the model my wife wanted. Paid retail from a snooty bi**h. Later saw the watch in N.Y. at both Wempe & Tourneau. Both were more than willing to discount. Stay away from their boutiques and find an independent. I guess this is water over the dam since you already purchased. Enjoy.

 

FWIW, I have a Tank Louis Cartier that was given to me for a significant occasion. It has not been a very reliable timepiece and maintenance/repair takes a really long time.

Mine is has now been sitting for about 10 years, unworn. Maybe its because the watch is simply too formal for 99% what I do these days.

I don't mind snooty behavior at these boutiques, since I admit I am usually in shorts and tee/polo shirt, but it hacks me off when they give my wife that treatment. So, I do something else while she shops. Her fave place is Tiffany & Co., and so she stops in whenever we are in a town with a store. She likes to go in wearing her Tiffany baubles. Good staff know their own product, recognize her as a serious customer, and give her the star treatment my queen deserves. Bad staff lose sales…T

 

As an addendum to my story, shortly after buying I saw the watch in two stores that were more than willing to discount in Manhattan.
