    I'm thinking of getting my wife a 25mm David Yurman diamond bezel ss/sterling Thoroughbred watch. Anyone have experience with these? Typical discounts?

    DY makes great jewelry and I'm sure their watches are no different. However, I think of DY more as a fashion piece than a true time piece. I know all their watches use ETA movements which are tried and true, so I wouldn't really worry about reliability. But it looks like this is a $6k quartz watch which is astonishinly expensive for a quartz. You are paying for the pave diamond bezel and cable bracelet, that's it. It has a $25 movement, seriously. Regarding discounts, its hard to get discounts on DY and I find that your best bet is to go to Bloomingdales when they offer 20% off using a store card.

    Thanks for the response. I also think the list prices were high for a quartz watch. Will look for sales. I have time. Our anniversary isn't until July.
