Anyone bought one ? Is it a good investment , or should I just stick to Patek's.
As an investment Patek broader market and easier to sell. Mille are for a more selected taste and could prove harder to liquidate.
I love Richard Mille watches and hopefully I have the money to buy one when I am older. If you want to buy a Richard Mille purely for an investment, then you're probably buying it for the wrong reason.
In my opinion, watches are probably not a good investment including Pateks. If you need to liquidate then certain Pateks are better than others and the Nautilus is a safe one. If you are looking to spend the kind of money a Richard Mille will cost then your market is very small if you want to sell. BTW, I'm hearing that Patek will raise their prices another 4.56% on Feb 1st.
I think in any diversified portfolio, collectibles have a place. Within collectibles, watches have a place, within watches Patek is the A++. Stick to limited edition and rare and out of production pieces and you can't go wrong. I would have most of my watch allocation in Pateks but I think you can make room for a Richard Mille or nine. I have a Richard Mille and it is the most exciting watch I have ever owned. I can't even explain why. I love wearing it. Richard Mille brand will continue to grow. He has a great knack for picking winning sportsmen and women to back and as long as he doesn't dilute the brand I think he will continue to attract good demand. The key obviously is to get in at the right price (around 60% - 80% of retail) and to buy the limited editions. PS, "Should I keep buying Pateks or are Richard Milles too?" - those are the good problems to have
Would love to own one someday too. Was just hoping it would have some value , and if need be I can trade it for something else
I am not 100% sure about it holding much of it's value but I personally think it would be hard to trade it for something else without getting the raw end of the stick if you know what I mean? 60-80% off retail makes them VERY affordable! Might sell the Ferrari to buy one.
I hear you but Ferraris, watches etc these are all fun toys that no one needs so I don't really see the difference.
jer im with you - from the Bronx - cant get myself to spend more than 50k on any watch but a patek just like with cars I think you shld buy what gives u butterflies/excitement for me its 1 patek 5970 for each of my sons... have debated getting a 5270 but falls short whenever I get close - something is just missing
I would buy one in a heart beat! Would LOVE to own an RM11. But my lower middle class roots can't afford to buy one. +1
No idea RE investment value of them but a richard Mille watch is one of my dreams to own, along with a Zonda. Stunning pieces of engineering, both of them.
Considering you can get them for 30-35% off, I think they are the next Franck Muller However, I do love them
Richard Mille RM 011 Titanium Felipe Massa list for $115k and you are able to buy from 87-92k. Richard Mille RM 035 Rafael Nadal First Edition Black can get for 75k.
RM 011 is my dream watch. Will have to wait to buy that one when I retire me thinks. In the meantime, I wasted $80 on this item off Ebay. It's pretty cool. When you open it up, it plays through around 12 RM watches. I forget the models now, but they are all very nice. Richard Mille Boxed USB Drive Press KIT Plays Video When Plugged IN Card | eBay
