Yeah, the problem usually occurs when/if you remove/drop your sunglasses. I think you may want to invest in some good neck bands. Try Googling "neck band sunglasses". ;)

Your fake sunglasses will probably have fake UV filters, perhaps in 5 years you will be looking for fake eyes as well :)

Lots of people don't understand this.
It's especially bad for kids to wear cheep sunglasses.

    True enough, Simon!

I bought some Persols recently, in a Pawn Shop...these are amazing lenses!!

Steve McQueen was on to something, mine don't fold in half though...

I have been through 2 lenses in my Oakley M-frames in nearly 20 years of having them.

I needed another set of lenses, but didn't want to pay $200 for them.

I found this company on Ebay called Walleva Lenses.

I ended up buying a set of black polarized lenses and a new nose/ear piece set for my glasses.

Totally was just under $100 delivered to Australia. I am not 100% sure if they are any good long term, but have had them for a few months now and am very happy with them.

These guys might be able to help you out Bruce.

Spending a few years standing out on the Bonneville Salt Flats a week at a time really hammered that home for me. Found out the virtue of Maui Jims and have worn nothing since.

Two things in life to spend money on. Your eyes and feet. You buy fake sunglasses then the quality of the lense will be plastic crap.

Ive broken 10 year old oakleys and the factory has always replaced or repaired them for the cost of shipping. Oakley is well worth the money

as a side note: Maui Jim will repair or replace any of their eyeglasses for [at least two years ago] $80. Don't even need to buy the insurance.

Ever since I went from buying cheap $15 sunglasses, to buying quality expensive ones (Ray Bans) I haven't broken a single pair. It used to be that a pair of sunglasses would only last a year before they were destroyed. Maybe it is a difference in quality, or maybe it is that I take better care of them because they are more expensive.

Revant carries a lot of replacement lenses and parts for Oakley's that are no longer made.
