Hello, My sister's partner passed recently and left his estate to her, he was a bit of a watch collector, mostly junk but there are a few interesting vintage watches. A few Rolex, Omega, Girard Perregaux, Seiko, Longiness, Gruen, Tissot, Leonidas, Bulova etc. Anyone have any suggestions on getting an "HONEST" opinion of what this stuff is worth? She is not really interested in keeping anything and was hoping to sell it off piece by piece. Really appreciate anyone willing to help out. Cheers Jeff
Frankly, post them here. At the least, the group should be able to tell you what goes to high end auctions and what goes on eBay. Regards, Art S.
+1 what Art said. You could probably find a new owner for the Rolex, Omega and GP stuff. Possibly the Longines and Tissot. If the Seiko watches are divers, there are collectors here, too. Post them all.

Wow, those are definitely some vintage watches! Those Rolexes look to be from the 60s, and the Oysterdate is very striking. The Date Just might be late 60s/early 70s. Hopefully dstacy chimes in as he is a vintage Rolex collector.
I'm useless on these but you might find some good opinions on watch forums. Rolex Vintage section here https://www.rolexforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32 Omega vintage here https://omegaforums.net/forums/vintage-omega-watches-help-discussion-and-advice.23/
Hey thanks guys. Found some pretty cool information today on who these watches belonged to. I had some idea about the history but today was able to confirm some info via the web. I was also able to pull some serial numbers off the Rolex watches and see they are all dated around the 1940's. The original owner was a very interesting gentleman, I spoke with my mother today and apparently she met him a few times prior to his death. He was an american who flew in WW II applied for Canadian Citizenship and ended up spending his life/career up here in Canada. My sisters partner was his only surviving relative at the time of his death in 2007. Unbelievable story, he was shot down and survived and also shot down numerous bombers. I'll attach a link for interest sake. I guess he had a eye for nice watches, very interesting story. Whitman George "Lefty", Flying Officer Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well let's see... The Air-King is an older one. A 5501 I believe. It is considered the "entry level" Rolex. My buddy just bought a pristine one for $1,000 plus shipping. The DateJust has me a little puzzled since I can't quite see it in the picture you posted, nor can we see the condition of the Jubilee bracelet. If the dial dips down at the edge it is a 1600 or 1601 series with a pie-pan dial. Since you don't know the service history on it I'd assume it needs a service. ($500 to $600) So I'd price it accordingly at under $2k. The 2 Oysters above those are VERY interesting. You may have something there. Can you post more pictures of those 2?
I would focus on the black honeycomb dial Oyster. Have a watchmaker pull the band off and get the serial. Then do a search on the serial.
Ok got the bands taken off the Oysters as suggested and tried taking a few pictures (Sorry I'm no photographer) The dark one is pretty spectacular the serial number is 14970 and other markings say BREVIT+ 6294 Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yep, just what I thought. What you have there is a model 6294. Serial number 14970 would be 1954. If you could provide quite a few pictures some closer up I'd be interested in buying that one.

Get as close of a picture as you can of the dial Jeff. Specifically where it says "rolex" and "oysterdate"
And by the way even though it is newer, and even though the dial has a lot of patina, my guess is when it is all done that one will bring more money. In addition to the fact that it has an 18k t-bird bezel that 3,6,9 dial is what collectors want and it appears to be untouched.
Well I appreciate your input, I seriously have no idea about these things! I would really like to talk to you if thats possible. I will PM you my contact info. Jeff
