Finally making the trip to see this great event then down to Daytona for Bike Week. Any recommendations on decent places to eat around Amelia island, reasonable places to stay, different things to see? Will plan to attend one of the local auctions Sat night. Suggestions appreciated.

Baxters to eat. As far as reasonable places to stay. Prices will be up for that weekend and hard to come by.

You sure? Google them or better go to tripadvisor and read about the $ 20 spent for a burger which turned out to be like a hockey puck........

Suggest you attend the Gooding auction on Friday and the RM Auction on Saturday.
Plus the seminars at the Ritz with great racing heroes.

I received my media credential approval in the mail so we'll be arriving Saturday morning for the RM Auctions and leaving Sunday after the awards. I'd love to meet up with FChatters during the weekend.

Planning on being there, staying with a friend in the village. Some fun restaurants there. Used to stay near the airport, prices always reasonable, and many restaurants in the area, mostly chains. 45 minute drive to the concours.

Get there early. First, parking is an issue. Second, you can watch the cars driven onto the show field.

What time do the cars start to line up on the lawn? Is it similar to what they do at Pebble Beach, with Haggerty having coffee and donuts for the early birds?

Concorso Atlantico is scheduled for Friday in that neck of the woods. It would be worth a peek.

This is one of my favorite car shows. The unique combination of traditional concours and race cars and unusual classes just add up to too much to see in just 2 days.

one of my favorite places to shoot is right at the parking area for the awards ceremonies. You just never know what is going to line up with what. The tough thing is that during the awards ceremonies, its a great time to shoot some of the cars minus the crowds as well.

I feel like a total retard. I booked a trip to L.A. for March 7-11. I completely forgot about this event. I'm so annoyed with myself. I guess I won't be there this year!

So what time do they line up in the morning? Best place to see them coming in? Does Haggerty have a similar coffee and donut tent like they do at Pebble beach?

I get there at 7 AM, and go up by the front of the hotel. To the left of there is a driveway that goes to an entrance for the cars going on the field. Fun to watch the cars running.
