I met up today with Bruce Winter a Fchatter and had a marvelous lunch speaking about cars in Pompano Beach. I was wondering if there is a group of us in south florida who would like to set up once a month to have lunch and BS about Ferrari and other wonderful exotics?
We could meet up around Fort Lauderdale and see what develops?

    LOL!

We used to go to Scruby's BBQ off 595 a few years ago once in a while. It is pretty easy to get to, and the food is great!

You could also go to Champpppps near Oakland Park. The food there is not so good IMHO.

    :)

Not to be a downer, but a few Fchatters local to you will be driving in the Appalachian mountains that day. I would push it back about a week if you don't get much response.

I would set it up but I moved north of Atlanta about a year ago. I think you can use the date you suggest, I was just advising that some Fchat regulars might not make it due to other plans. Give me a heads up if you are heading to Atlanta though, I would be glad to meet up!

I am in for the 29th.
The 3rd of May would also be a possibility, although not ideal for me.

I wish there was a 'like' button. This is the only way to get it done! Announce when and where the lunch is, and see who turns up. Have fun!

Great idea. Are you sure the restaurant is open for lunch? The hours are 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and if I recall correctly they used to serve a Sunday brunch. Also, to avoid any confusion, the restaurant is located near the beach on Galt Ocean Mile and not downtown Ft. Lauderdale. I would attend but can not get away from the office.

    Before your time.

Some years ago, there was a strong club called Scuderia South Florida. Logo, t-shirts, monthly dinners alternating from Dade County to Palm Beach County. Not unusual to get 25+at every dinner, with most driving some sort of exotic. Mostly Ferraris.

Many restaurants would hire photographers to photo the cars in front of the restaurants. We were loved by JB's in Deerfield. For a few years, until I got French fried, I planned all of these dinners. Made sure that parking was safe for the cars, especially FB's, and that there was no hassle with individual checks. We even had special December holiday dinners.

Thanks to Martin Wiescholek, the club lasted at least 7+ years. Then Martin moved away to Argentina, and like I said, I got toasted and out of circulation for 9 months. Lost the Boxer, fearful to get into anything smaller than a large truck. Lost my desire.

So my reference ROYAL was to a club that did what you are suggesting, meet monthly for dinner. Except for Paulie, he could not venture south of Belvedere exit in PBC . JUST JOKING PB!

Will never forget the one night that BT showed up at Sweet Tomato's in Deerfield in an open car, I forget what it was, and his lovely wife as passenger trying to appear like she enjoyed getting wind burns from their trip down from North Palm!

I hope your idea transforms into reality as strong as SSF. Can't make it myself, too long of a drive for me from Chihuahua. Besides, too many health issue.

Also, I suggest getting RSVP's so you can give the restaurant a head's up, and they can close off tables together for the group.

Firstly, thank you everyone who has sent pms or emails to help get this monthly meetup off of the ground ! As suspected the first venue is not open for lunch :( however, we will start at Anthonys Runway 84, good parking, safe, great food, great location for first time, off of 595, 95 , US 1 and in Fort Lauderdale but not downtown.

We will keep the same date April 29 and the time of 12:30pm
All who will be attending please send me a pm so I can book the appropriate size table
