I am vetting a car in Fort Lauderdale. It's been serviced by lauderdale ferrari so prefer to get an independent evaluation.

Seller insists only dealer can work on car.

    Who would you reccomend?

The Collection Coral Gables or New County West Palm Beach?

I think he doesn't like or trust non-dealer people.

Personally, I prefer a good Indy but to each his own.

I have seen the service records, he clearly takes care of the car and isn't hesitant to spend on it.

He just does everything at the dealer.

    Any other votes?

You've mentioned the other 2 dealers in the area. It's a coin flip. IS one closer to the seller than the other? Maybe one will pick up and drop off? I'd be calling each dealer and seeing what they are willing to do in terms of a PPI.

Many dealers won't even do a PPI these days. Better check that first. Seller is being unreasonable in my opinion. Tim Stanford would look after the car as well as any dealer I know of.

I believe that all of the major dealers are back in the business of performing PPI's these days.

For a while there, it was true that they chose not to do them as they became sources of
    conflicts of interest at times.

But, then the crash of '08 came and dealers needed to pad their bottom lines. So, they not only
started doing PPIs again, they were undercutting the rates of indy guys by quite a lot, sometimes
    at half the price.

    Good advice to shop around.

I have struggled with this question for two decades. I am not sure this is the best answer. But I do the following.

On my exotic cars I use the dealer. They sometimes have updates that improve the car a lot. This just happened with my Lamborghini Aventador. The dealer did several service campaigns. The car drives and feels like a more refined car. An older exotic car can be serviced fairly good by some independent shops. At a dealer you always know it will be fixed at an independent you have to check them out.

On a few of my older cars cars a use a great local shop.

Always difficult to know what is best.

Good luck to you. NY should be easy to find a great shop.

I have found a top mechanic that can fix anything. He works at Ferrari but with some of my supercars that have nagging problems he seems to be able to fix then

I can recommend Precision Auto Tune in Margate.
The owner, Adrian, is a Ferrari Chat member and a Ferrari owner as well.
Otherwise Tim Stanford In Ft. Lauderdale has a "legendary" reputation and he is as well a Ferrari Chat member and a Ferrari owner.
