The car does have most of the parts. According to the shop owner it belongs to his friend, but he would not give details. They are an all Porsche shop so the shop owner knows very little about the car from a restoration standpoint it seems. It is also apparent the owner is in no rush either from a financial, a parts sourcing, or maybe just interest. The shop gets calls regularly about it.
My thoughts are that being Burbank, the owner of the car has other projects, most likely a Hollywood-type. This is the case with a beautiful MB SL in my friend's shop. The owner of the car is one of the creators of Glee, so chances are he is a little distracted, or has other things to think about. From the looks of it, I'd peg it as an earlier car, either the 1600 or 1800 motor, non-turbo. Dinalpin on the nose, Alpine on the engine cover.

I would do a lot of inappropriate items for that new/concept they have. Sadly, the chance of that coming to Canada is roughly 0%.
