Honda is overrated and is clearly experiencing real problems with their 4wd and airbags.
Buick is up there only because its aging buyers are gentle drivers.
    Toyota motors deserve kudos.
The infotainment issues are not reliability problems for driving point a to point b. Need a different scale.
Audi has oil leak and motor endurance issues.

I've had three Audis, zero issues so far, so could be that someone has figured out how to assemble VW parts into something reliable.

We're on Audi #5 now, first was a 1998 A4 that we had for 6 months in 2002; next was a 2002 allroad, owned for 5.5 years with only 2 minor problems; #3 was the 2007 S4 Avant that replaced the allroad; that was replaced with #5, a 2014 S7. #4 is a 2010 S5 which I still have, alongside the S7. All (except the S7) were manual trans, #3 - #5 have been problem free through 7 years, 4 years and counting, and 1 year and counting. Really great cars, really reliable, much nicer interiors than anything offered by BMW at the same price points, and these days - better drivers cars than the same price point BMWs.

I've been impressed with Audi lately. When it comes time to replace my BMW I'll need to take a close look at a newer (2008+) Audi.

I'm a broken record at this point, but MB has lost my business indefinitely.

Toyota is my go to for DD and staple cars.

Two years ago when I was shopping around I drove a bunch of different model and makes - Audi cars certainly had an edge when it came to performance, although I only test drove the A4, S4, and A5. All great cars.

Funny talked to someone just yesterday about her 2014 a4 and she mentioned she's having tranny issues.

That's impressive. My friend from high school drove an Audi that had been in the family since the 80's. Got bought as Mom's car, then dad's DD for a while until it fell into the oldest brothers hands when he got his license. And just kept on getting passed from sibling to sibling. It's still running and still in the family and is with the youngest son who is off at college. I think it has around 200k miles or so too and just won't die.

We recently bought my wife a one-year-old Q7 S-Line. We honestly like all of Audi's current models, and probably would have gone with an SQ5, but really needed something with an occasional third row. The Q7 drives great for a large vehicle, and the interior is just a fantastic place to cover miles. We haven't really had it long enough to comment on reliability issues, but it feels darn solid and seems well put together. It has the 8 speed auto which is a fantastic transmission.

I'd love to have an Audi for "me" at some point, maybe a TTS or S5 or older R8 (once they depreciate some more anyway). ;)

It's one of those things that their always will be bad apples in the bunch. My friend who is the biggest Audi fan around leased a top of the line 2013 RS5...With in the first three months the engine went with 2800 miles. He waited a month in a half to have the engine shipped to the states and installed . After he got the car back, the new engine started to knock like a diesel truck. Guess what, another engine went. My friend said he doesn't feel safe in the car and Audi gave all his money back for the year and bought the car back. The handles the situation great without hassle. Now he went and leased the BMW 4 series just to try something new.

Love the #1 - #2 especially considering all the joke reviews on Jalopnik.

That is impressive for Audi! I feel like they would do better with ONLY a tdi line.

It really is luck of the draw these days.

Some people swear off car manufacturers altogether after one shot. I'll probably give BMW another shot down the road. I really like the new 3 and 4 series'.

Are you picking it up in Houston? Or is that where it's coming into port?

First Audi here, 2014 Q5 TDI Diesel motor. Love it so far. Great chassis,
good brakes, and endless effortless instant torque.
Sport seats, paddle shifters, 20" wheels, summer 255/45 tires and this
thing keeps up with cars it should not.

Engine is not yet broken in, less than 6000 miles, and I saw 36 mpg
on the freeway last trip out. Mid twenties flying around town.
And this with all wheel drive. I actually look forward to driving this thing !

Dealer emailed a copy of the window sticker. Everything correct as ordered.

RS5 cleared customs today and put on a transport this AM. Should arrive at the Salt Lake City Dealership on Friday.

The dealer must do prep and:
mount Mich Pilot SS all season tires
    Install V1 hardwire
Install 3M clear bra from windshield forward

    :D
