    All,

I'm in the process of looking at a number of Cadillac CTS's to buy as a second daily driver/extra vehicle. Looking at the 2009-2010 models.

Any thing, specifically, I should look at, especially given there's no such thing as Carfax here?

    (I'm in Kuwait)

    Mike

Get one with as many options as possible. It's the only car I've been in where the options make it seem like a totally different vehicle.

In 2010 we upgraded the rear shock from a 36mm monotube to a 46mm monotube and retuned the suspension around it. The ride comfort on 2010s and later are better. I would start looking at those. There are additional improvements for Noise and Vibration performance that came on board after the initial launch in 2008. I think all of the 2010s should have those as well.

Sorry, can't help myself, but even if I'm slightly biased, it's the truth.
    Don't want to BS anyone.....:)

Ha, that's not a knock. How awesome is the internet. You can actually connect with the very folks who worked on the car firsthand and learn about the exact car you are interested in.

I know mine is older but I'm extremely happy with my 05 CTSV. Not a perfect car but pretty close. I drive it year round and am currently running Blizzaks on it. Over last weekend we got close to 12" of snow and then the skies cleared and the temps dropped down to the mid 40s, that's -40s actually! Sunday night down to -48F to be exact and the car handles this with no problems although I will mention that the I keep the car in a heated garage.

    Jeff,

Thank you for the excellent information...

Because of your post, I'm specifically looking at 2010s and up.

Do you know, off-hand, what (if any) differences there are between the US models and models destined for delivery at dealerships in the Middle East (Kuwait, Saudi, Qatar, Oman, UAE, Bahrain, etc.)?
