I am seriously stuck as to what car to replace my Aston Martin V12 Vantage S. I absolutely love this car and it has been my DD for a year. I will likely trade it in as it has some issues.
My other cars are the 16M, CGT, Bentley FS and wife drives Escalade for 4 kids.

I need a daily driver that is visceral and fun to drive but not too flashy (no Ferrari or Lambo). Previous daily drivers I had were M3, M5, M6, AM DBS, Lotus and the V12VS. Not interested in Porsche or MB.

    Maybe i8?
    Rapide?

Ferrari FF. Step up in performance. Better handling. Not too flashy and if you get one slightly used, you can get a great deal... 650 hp, 4wd, 4 seats.

Try '15 Rapide S, it will surprise you.
Night and day difference vs '14 Rapide S.
I would also try RS7, I know you don't want MBs but try the new CLS 63 just for the heck of it (you may change your mind).

I'm a huge huge fan of the i8 but I don't think it's practical. You might be better off with the new M2 when it comes out, or a little M235i if you don't need anything big or that fast, just fun.

Tesla Model S is supposed to be fun but I have a feeling it will feel like driving a gadget.

    F-Type R? Good looking car...

Too bad you said no MB as the new AMG GT looks wonderful.

Heck! Totally missed the part no MB or Porsche

So if Porsche was not an option and plan on having short term DD, I prob would go for a convertible Corvette

Great choice but maybe a little to flashy. No more than the I8 though.

Oh and mayor, if you I wondering why the paint looks good, it went from the factory to Esoteric for a rather expensive correction :p

If "not too flashy" is critical, stay well away from the i8. I've seen three so far, and even though they were as quiet and inoffensive-looking as could be, they attracted more attention than I've ever seen a car attract before. Attention as in, causing Whole Foods employees to notice the car, walk over, and snap pics after seeing it from inside the building. Have you given any consideration to a McLaren 12C? They fly under-the-radar pretty well, considering the class it competes in.

This is definitely something to consider!
Ferrari badge may be a bit flashy for work but it is somewhat understated?
I like the seats in the back to help pick up kids from school

I recently test drove the Rapide S and I was quite impressed at its handling and power. May consider it and again back seats are good for my kids.

Yes i8 may be too flashy and impractical for work.
MP4-12C may be too much for work as well.

Believe it or not I may go very practical with maybe a Cayenne GTS or Turbo......wifey is knocking some sense into me (or wants me to help pick up 3 kids from school).

    Eddie,
You will be selling yourself short if you don't consider AMG as your next DD. If you don't need the back seats the 2015 AMG GTS would be an amazing car... The current F1 pace car , a $150k 4.0 liter twin turbo coupe that has a faster time around the Top Gear test track than a 458 and can get almost 35 mpg (if driven carefully-which will be impossible). If you need the back seats consider an $80k C63 AMG S, that has the very same engine as the GTS but wet sump. Look at this Top Gear review: New Mercedes-AMG C63: the big road test - BBC Top Gear

If you go Cayenne go for the new turbo. I bought an S, my only regret is not buying the turbo. If I didn't have dogs, Id go Rolls Royce Ghost.

B6 is great, AWD and 600 hp for the '16.

Have one now. A little more under the radar than some other cars and a blast to drive. Also won't have nearly as many problems as the Aston.
