    What should I look out when buying a car like this ?

    Anyone believes this car would start appreciating ?

    Yes. They are the poor man's 190SL. Look for wrong engine; rust; missing soft tops; 68 thru 71 280SL's are becoming harder to find in restorable shape and are now un-buyable at even $15K Perfect examples we have restored are now commanding $250K +.. The 230SL 250SL is the next best thing.

    remember that rusty blue garage find i sent you mark ? i sold it as is...

    my advice would be to purchase a nice already done car from someone like mark...... they are very expensive to restore

    imho, the are still the best kept secret out there....

    timeless style, very practical and usable. very quick. drive great.

    190sl slow as balls.... only a matter of time before a soccer mom in a suburban drives over u

    A lot to see over at 113sl.org..many long term owners and fans,and many guys don't mind getting their hands greasy and beat up tinkering with their car and ask questions here..
    And Mark is right,the days of the 10k$ decent runner are past,as that car is now double that at a minimum if not triple..and it'd be pretty easy to put in twenty or thirty more getting it to "play pretty" or prettier anyway.
    I'm starting to get more and more thumbs up signs when I take mine out and it is pretty "pretty"..but lately in this heat wave it,and I,have stayed in the shade ;)
