Apparently Porsche is admitting that it was a mistake to only offer an automatic in the current 911 GT3. While the company made waves when they announced the manual-only 911 R, a reportedly "vocal group" of customers seem to want the GT3 to regain a proper manual transmission.

    911R already unobtanium.
But if they have gone to the effort of mating the GT3 powertrain to a manual, and this si really complex when everythign from Tc etc is all linked, then it makes sense to sell the powertrain on other cars, like a GT3 and maybe a GT4?

Just list the manual as an option AND charge more money for the 'downgrade' in performance.' Most of the P options are nothing but worthless bling.

Yeah there are too many gates in the seven speed unit. Six speeds is probably the best for performance cars with manual transmissions.
