OK anyone have experience with both these cars? Obviously I'm comparing a new Porsche GT4 vs a used Aston Martin V12 Vantage. Both are available in my area at similar prices; the AM has 5K miles in great shape - multiple GT4's available essentially new. Which would you have?

I have not but the Aston will/could cost much more over the next 5 years than the Porsche. Not only is the Porsche warrantied, but the cost of Aston parts and repairs are very high. That being said, the Aston is certainly the next link up on the food chain. If you go in eyes wide open then I think the Aston would give the biggest thrill and excitement in ownership over the Porsche.

If its an earlier stick shift V12 Vantage I would go Aston Martin every time.

I have no experience with either, but it sounds like comparing apples to grapefruits, size & weight wise.

If one wants a race car get a Formula car and skip the GT4 altogether.
I understand the draw as it seems all the rage right now.
Can one be had for sticker ? I think not. I am wary of "instant" collectables financially.

    V-12 Vantage is a stunning GT/street car.

Another option would be a stick shift DBS.
