Looking for a wheel geek

I have a 2011 SLS AMG with stock wheels and I'd like to put a set of the "Black Series" wheels on the car. However, the Black Series is just different enough in a lot of dimensions to give me pause.

My local dealer was essentially no help at all. The only useful piece of information I could get from them was that the front offset had a delta of 1 (mm?). Okay, great, so use a spacer and be done - right? Hmm, I dunno if it's ever that simple. What about handling? Will the meatier tires fit in the wheel wells?

Ideally, I'd love to hear from someone who has in fact done the swap in real life. If not, maybe a 'wheel geek' (you know who you are) who can give me some straight advice.
