    TAG MOTORSPORTS

In today's automotive industry, there's hardly any debate of whether or not the electric car has a stable place in the market. Tesla (and a few others) have made quite and impact, and continue to do so with every new development in the electric car industry.

If they continue building cars that look and perform as awesomely as the new Model X, it's safe to say that the electric car is here to stay.

And we are damn glad about it, because this Model X look absolutely perfect on these HRE P101's.

    Full List of Modifications:
    2016 Tesla Model X
-22x10 HRE P101 Wheels in Brushed Titanium Finish
    -285/35/22 Pirelli Scorpion Zero Tires

Interesting. What's the weight different between stock and those? What effect does it have on range and performance?

Believe it or not, SIGNIFICANTLY less.

    Factory 22x9.0" turbine: Weight - 38lbs
    Factory 22x10.0” turbine: Weight - 40lbs

    HRE P101 22x9.5": Weight - 27lbs
    HRE P101 22x10": Weight - 26lbs

That is an 11lbs savings on each corner in the front, and 14lbs savings on each corner in the rear. That takes the total weight savings to 37lbs for all for corners.

With that being said - yes it should have an effect on the range and performance. It is taking less energy to get the vehicle moving due to less unsprung mass. :)

Here's C&D test results for Model X. Very impressive for a hatchback "SUV."

Not sure that's very important... it's dragging around a half ton of batteries.

Whoa, Pic #2. Is it just me or does the X have a very similar profile as the Pontiac Aztek? Walter White, your new ride is here!!

    The wheels are cool.

Yep... just what I was thinking. Aztek.

Pretty nondescript, not quite ugly SUV on 'spiderweb' wheels... does not compute.
    They do not go together.

The wheels don't work with that 5500 lb. lump.

And it did not take all that many pics to figure that out.

Show us those wheels on a car deserving of the honor.

Saw my 1st Model X on the road last week. After 1 second of "Oh wow, cool" - my next thought was, "It looks like a morbidly obese Model S". The press pictures are very flattering...just wait to see it in the flesh. Bland, so very bland.

I might insult some Tesla owners! Henry Royce of Rolls fame once said: "the quality will remain long after the price is forgotten!"

I just don't think the quality will remain on Tesla's like a Mercedes S Class.
