Heard yesterday at the Eurosport Lemans coverage, that in conjuction with the manufacturers, they're planning to ban fosile fuel powered cars as well. Not sure if just in LMP1 or other classes as well.

Just un-informed politicians really believing EV's are the cure, so how about the mining to dig all the rare earth materials out of the ground for these cars, or the nightmare re-cyling or the power generation, especially for Germany who have now shunned nuclear...... The cradle to grave co2 ouput of these cars is not the environmnetal silver bullet.

Partly agree, but I guess they'll have to start somewhere.

This one pretty funny though, typical for politicians.

"Earlier this year, the Dutch city of Rotterdam banned diesel cars manufactured before 2001 from some of its streets in order to reduce air pollution."

Pictured left a fuel oil powered cruise ship in downtown Rotterdam. Pictured right a fuel oil powered 400m container vessel, just a couple of km's down the river. But entering R'dam city centre in your old 1.5 litre diesel car is a no go.

Not going to happen, they just don't want to feel left out because Norway announced the same.

And then your typical ****** politician will jet off on a plane for a few days to some meaningless conference somewhere!

Our President shut down all of our coal mines. In the USA we will have to use Sterno or bicycles :)
