More Old Photos

This is probably my favorite Ferrari photograph. Taken by Tom Burnside in a Pontiac garage in Sebring in 1962. Copyright of course the photographer (www.tomburnside.com)...

The quizz is: name the model and serial number of those beautiful Ferrari (some of them partially visible)! Winner gets a nice extra-large Ferrari Scudetto wall-sticker (48 inches x 35 inches) ;-).

Boudewijn and 121LM, you are very good and quick...!
I'm just confused with the identity of car n°22... When I compare the different photos in my files, I'm not really sure if this is #2733GT. Could be #2819GT or #2845GT. Although they are very helpfull, there are many mistakes in books or car lists. Here is a photo with n°22 at Sebring 1962 (thanks to the excellent Barcboys site), and another photo with #2819GT at Monthléry 1961 (Jess Pourret book). What do you think?

Just to ad to the confusion, here are two more photos... Car n°24(?) at Daytona in 1962 (David Castelhano collection), and again car n°22 at Sebring 1962 (Barcboys collection).

Non, dans le livre sur Tavano à la page 148, il est bien écrit 2945GT mais je n'avais pas réagi à la possible erreur de frappe.

Sebring a lieu plus d'un mois après Daytona, je ne pense pas que 2845GT soit resté sur place. De plus, la Scuderia n'utilise pas la 250 TRI lors de cette épreuve.

2819GT doit commencer sa modification en Breadvan, on n'est plus qu'à trois mois des 24 heures.

 

Je n'ai pas le livre sur Tavano, mais même erreur de frappe dans le livre de Jess Pourret (2945 au lieu de 2845)... La preuve que les auteurs recopient souvent...
Pour ce qui est du Breadvan, je crois savoir que la conversion s'est faite très rapidement.

 

Plus besoin de livre, je suis certain que c'est 2845GT. Les drapeaux de la scuderia sur les ailes avant, sont placés plus bas sur 2733GT et 2819GT.

 

Ce qui veut dire... qu'on est des bons! Il y a aussi les ronds blancs avec les numéros placés aux mêmes endroits...
Ce qui m'a aussi fait douter par rapport à #2733GT ce sont les entrées d'air latérales avant, placées très à l'extérieur sur #2845GT et #2819GT.
En comparant mes photos, j'ai trouvé pas mal d'autres incohérences concernant d'autres Ferrari. Mais ce qui est écrit par des auteurs renommés est souvent difficile à défaire.

Some SEFAC hot rods have the high grill, many cars do not have them anymore today due restorations. Some also have a higher roof (2819gt) then 'standard' (but hey the're all hand made!
You need photos from the front.

I must congratulate the French participants who were amazingly quick to respond!

According to my sources, Nbr 22 is chassis #2845, Team Scuderia SSS Republica di Venezia, Drivers: Fernand Tavano (F)/Colin Davis (GB), DNF (119 laps). Maybe someone can correct me????

I've seen this car many times named 2945GT, and I believe this is a typo because chassis 2945GT is a 250 PF cabrio series II if I'm not mistaken.

Unless there's new developments, 121LM wins.... Félicitations!

j'ai 2733GT pour la n° 22 à Sebring 1962

 

c'est quoi cette épreuve au Mexique? as tu l'équipage, chassis classement?

 

Here is another photo with #2845GT at Daytona 1962 with n°28 (photo from the ex-David Castelhano collection). The pilot is Olivier Gendebien. So, car n°22 at Sebring 1962 should definitively be #2845GT.
