Hi Craziness may have taken root. I am planning to come to CA this summer and may have bought a QP III to use when I am there. I would need to get it picked up in LA and checked then up to SF Area and made ready for use (service, likely valve cover gaskets and crackle paint, AC charge if needed) and kept safe for me

Can anyone recommend someone sane and sensible that won't try to play silly buggers.... Also, I need to use it in August not shepherd it around shops to get it working. End of the summer I will either sell it or ship it home to join the herd.

    Thoughts.

OK here is the saga which will be set out more in my 81/86 thread. Car is in SAC as my nephew owns an ordinary car repair shop there (great for all more modern). Benefit is I trust him to help me and I will be staying there. They can do most bits but I need help with getting the tune up done and having the Webers running right etc.

The guy was not straightforward and there were undisclosed hidden issues but thankfully not the terminal ones!! Front end is sound and good but exhaust is gone and there are some paint issues - eruptions near rear light. A frame on the front was damage in trailering the car - can you believe it! Idiots and incompetents. Is there a Better Business Bureau or complaints bureau in CA - I know he is bonded.

Anyway, for a sight unseen buy I think we dodged the major bullets.

    HELP NEEDED

SACRAMENTO EXPERTS WHO COULD SORT THE TUNING -CARBS ETC
    EXHAUST SPECIALISTS IN CA/SAC?

Niello and Stewarts don't work on classics or at least on Quattroporte!

    "Hi William,

I am sorry we do not work on these cars anymore, not sure who to recommend.

    Thanks,

    Stewart "

I really don't think the issues the car has require specialist knowledge but getting the tuning right is perhaps the only step in the chain.
