I thought this would be an appriorate time to start a dedicated LaFerrari XX discussion/picture thread, as there is now pretty much unanimous agreement that there is a running prototype of the car (see vid in this post). The car has wider front wheel arches, a different exhaust setup, is much stiffer etc.

They are separate cars, purpose-built by the factory.

This also happened with the FXX and 599XX right?

In the video by 2.22, what happened with the right rear wheel? This didn't look good!

From patents it might have an "active aero duct" at the front. IMO the bonnet vent will finally serve its function with a big fan in it

Correct. I believe there are roughly 30 FXX and 39 599XX.

Good question. Likely a suspension failure of some sort?

    Link?

If that's the way it is, that's a pretty dynamic suspension! It appears to power out of the corner just fine and watch that wheel going into the next turn- nice & planted, looks ok to me.

    a new all-wheel steering system? ;)

I would say the suspension was broken, this wheel position cannot be normal.

    However, drivers reaction was excellent!

And if I remember correctly, there are 34 FXX. The initial number was 29, but Schumacher asked for another one. When the EVO package was launched, 4 more cars were built.

Hmm, I haven't checked for a while but I believe both myself and Carbon have 39 VIN's.

Thanks Peter. Would you happen to know how many LaF-XX mules there currently are running around?

Until Ferrari Spa says there is an XX model I don't believe it. They could be testing anything ...

It 'is' not an XX per se, it's an early prototype - developing and testing the tech that will feature in the final product. This prototype is a lot stiffer than the production LaF, the wing is much more active, there is a different exhaust, lightweight wheels etc. The brakes glow under braking, something I have not seen a production-spec CCM system do except in special circumstances...

The time for performance testing and calibrating the LaF is behind us... They are still doing some durability testing, but are doing so on prototypes in road-spec so to spec.

But they have! At least to future owners!!!

This is an XX mule. So far without too much aero mods, but a concentration on weight reduction, suspension settings, brakes and engine and Hy-Kers.

The Monza test was the first with a next step for the rear wing but work is coming on the front end aero

By the way, they never even print a brochure!!

The car will - in theory - be presented "privately" at the World Finals" to the CC customers
