Thank you very much. I wasn't looking forward to figuring this out without a diagram Really appreciate it Rick Botting
I purchased this car about a year ago. I also own Miura #4064 and just sold 400GT 2+2 #1183 The local Lamborghini dealership made me aware of it, it was abandoned I the back of a small European car repair shop. Had sat there 15 years or so. Previous owner had sent it there for restoration as the restoration shop it had been in in LA had gone broke. That shop lost the back window. The other shop lost the brake calipers, door handles and other bits. Anyways, tracked down the owner, now in his mid80"s and purchased the car. According to Lou Herrin, car was sold new to a dealer in Switzerland, but I believe it came to California very soon after that. The car has a US DOT label in the door jamb. Car was originally silver with dark red upholstery. Still had the original interior when I got it, but too far gone to save. It is now painted, suspension all rebuilt and re-installed, almost finished the motor rebuild, and interior about 1/2 done. Should be finished early in the new year. I am pleased in the way it is turning out, should be a great car, just the way Lamborghini designed it to be. Rick Botting
Interesting, that what I have about your car: Consigned to Autoelite in Milano and then imported by Grand Garage des Nations (Geneva).

No, but I recently saw the ad myself. Jarama guys, is near 500 where you need to be at to have a high quality car? Projects and full resto's for close to 300 is pretty stiff compared to where we were not long ago.
Without certainty, I think it is #6625, the 208th Islero. is it really gold like the description says ? original livery was "bronzo scuro/senape" delivered the 2nd december 1969 Happy birthday Miss 45 years old !!!
I haven't seen one sell for that. I'm saying if you buy a total project for near 300, you will be in the car for 500 pretty quick. And 500k Brazilian Real is worth less than $195k US, so, your snide remark could at least be backed up by a little bit of math.
??? I thought you meant $500K. Sorry. It's just that there are so many crazy valuations being put forth these days that one really shouldn't be shocked by much of anything but I was.
500k BRL = 192k USD = 156k => that's not too far from the highest Jarama record sale I've recently helped to sort it out... so I'm not too bad in math & in currency exchange. About your point, it doesn't surprise me that Islero are getting closer to 400 GT 2+2 market average price. I know a 400 GT 2+2 for 430k & another one for 495k , both restored at different level. There is a piece of iron/cheese cake called "Islero S" sitting in Italy for 140k USD, one day it will go, but its future owner must be prepared to invest more than 350k USD... I know also another Islero project for sale for 250k
I confirm it's #6625, I saw some pictures from the different tags: Chassis: #6625 Engine: #50209 Body: 25208
Yes, I know those cars also. I do wonder though, I do not know the sale price of the yellow car that was here in the States at Fantasy Junction (6198). Was advertised for $400k for quite some time.
it sold for just a little bit less than 400k USD I've just been informed of another Islero sale in Europe for same price level ! We can conclude with 2 earlier Islero sales this year, the average price for good Islero is around USD 400,000 or 300.000 ...
Olivier- people are sniffing around My car at the $400 range, I think the car is worth a whole lot more! Why should an Islero be "cheap" compared to the 350/400 series cars. With only 225 built, and who knows how many actually left, it's one so very few. Remember no more than a couple of hundred people worldwide can one an Islero at the same time! As you know Lamborghini is not building any more..........it's a great car! Smashing good looks with an drive train few other cars have all made in house by Lamborghini...... Fast, comfortable and basically quite at speed. At 120 kph you can hold a conversation with the person in the seat next to you! Try that in a miura!
I agree with you that it worthes more, but is the market ready for that ? I bed it will raise quickly since I can see several very nice 400 GT 2+2 frozen at a price level without moving for a year or so !
looking at islero thread now anyone knows what happened to this one? it sat for years outside in Italy Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
If I remember correctly the ad back in 2009, it was in the north and the guy selling it was "G. Drunick"...
