Whats with the air scoops on the side of #6012? that looks like a substantial restoration. Do you know what the cars condition was before the work started?
it was already like that, but the restoration is not substantial, it is a full restoration bare to metal, bolts & nuts... the owner didn't want to have it back to original ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's a pic of my engine. Completely rebuilt and ready to go back in. As usual the car went to the shop for something small, a problem With one if the brake boosters, but ended up with a full engine rebuild! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Islero S #6522 for sale at Retromobile, Artcurial auction => Rétromobile 2015 by Artcurial Motorcars - Vente N° 2651 - Lot N° 141 | Artcurial | Briest - Poulain - F. Tajan Image Unavailable, Please Login
This artcurial car seems to have some sort of after market devised front air dam/ spoiler... Has anyone seen this car in person yet? What is the cars actual condition. The auction estimate seems conservative?
Hi all, normally I am in the M-Section as I own several old Maseratis. But my friend owns Islero VIN #6000 (prototipo) since 1999 and due to his age he thinking of letting it go to another keeper. He is not a "computer-guy", so it´s my turn here in this section. What he would most like is, that someone, who cares and drives the car, should have it. He is in no hurry and surely knows the market very well. Dealer and flippers are more or less out. The car is in the same condition as shown in post #5, but only 12 years older with a little bit more patina. It´s regular driven, if the weather condition allows it. Hans
Hans, Here is #6000 when I discovered it some year ago and met your friend & his nice wife... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is a link to Jay Leno's Garage featuring Adam Corolla's Islero. Leno hops behind the wheel of Adam Carolla's 1968 Lamborghini Islero Adam had purchased Donald Osborne's Islero #6267 at Gooding Monterey a few years ago. The one in the video appears to be a different Islero, while Corolla admits that they changed the color on the car he mentions that it was originally Silver, the interior is also completely different than #6267. The only thing that matches #6267 is the steering wheel. So one would assume that Corolla purchased another Islero. Anyone know the vin?
Hi there guys, I was just wondering if anybody out there happens to know much more about 6189-S. It seems like a slightly odd (and therefore intriguing) car!
Olivier will chime in. Car was delivered new in Belgium. In the early 70's appeared in Australia as a RHD 'S'. Last heard from in about 1999 by Lou Herrin supposedly heading back to the UK. I, also, would like further info. It appears that this may be another case of a new car receiving an old cars VIN to avoid taxes. John
very well sold for its general condition, drivable as is... incorrect color, incorrect interior, engine must be rebuilt + engine bay detailing, front spolier non original ! I'm pleased to see Islero growing in value with that restoration base at 290.000 , so it means that a perfectly restored Islero worthes almost 400.000 I know such perfect one for sale, if someone is interested, just PM me. #6228 is sold, bye bye Belgium... it is going to Germany Hope to see it again in an event, and may be its new owner is already a member of FChat ? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oliver, what a lovely car this is. The car reminds me of my little baby Image Unavailable, Please Login
January 2015, Islero GTS sold by Artcurial went for +/- 300.000 including fees, it is a car to be used as is, but for the real collector it is a car to be restored in its original factory livery because paint & interior are not original, engine needs rebuilt, the whole think was not looking great, front spoiler is not original, and so on... New owner contacted the factory to have more info about his purchase and confirm his intention to restore it, at least for 100.000 budget. Since another Islero has been sold in Belgium, #6228, 1st week of March to a German collector for 340.000 . At Essen, #6357 black Islero GT offered by Movendi went for 350.000 (in need of restoration to match originality at 50.000 ) and very nice original green Islero GT sold by Klima Lounge went for 400.0000 . Definitevely you can compute it how you want, the Islero price market in 2015 is : 400.000 for a nice original car or a restored car. Pic of my friend Iain Tyrrel (owning Miura #3586 "Italian Job") standing next to #6357 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the update Oliver! Yea for Islero's...... My islero is getting it engine done as we speak should be up and running soon!
