Ladies & Gentlemen, I cannot believe it but it is that time of the year again!! Wow the year flies by! On Saturday December 3rd, with the generous help from our local PCA colleagues, we will be hosting our 9th Annual Toy Drive for the Durham Rescue Mission. Our Toy Drive has become the primary source of Christmas presents for the boys & girls at the Durham Rescue Mission...so please, be generous! With your incredible gratitude, the kids at the Durham Rescue Mission can have a Christmas that most of us take for granted. The guidelines for a Christmas present are as follows: - Boys & Girls ages 12 and under - Please make sure the gift remains unwrapped Event Details: - The Triangle Area PCA (thank you Tom Roos!) has again for this year offered Porsche Southpoint (122 Kentington Dr, Durham, NC) as the Toy Drive location. >>Enter from Rolando Drive! - The PCA C&C starts @ 9:00-9:30, and, we plan to have the truck from the Durham Rescue Mission arrive around the same time. - For those in the Cary / Apex / Holly Springs / Fuquay area, we will be meeting @ Leith VW (2300 Autopark Blvd., Cary, NC) at 8:30AM, departing there at 9:00AM sharp. A very sincere "thank you!" to everyone in advance for helping with this toy drive! We look forward to seeing everyone out there! You guys are awesome! See you all on December 3rd! Cheers! Keith Hall, Tom Roos, and Greg Owens
There was a gentleman on here with a black 16M who mentioned he just moved to the Cary area and was curious about activities and drives. I want to make sure he's aware and can participate...he would be a very nice addition to the event and drive over.
Hey, I think you are referring to me! I was just telling my wife that we need to go to this when I saw your message. I'll be there in the 16M as long as the weather is good, otherwise I'll be there in my BMW M2
I sold my 458 and my 488 is expected to arrive mid December. I will be there for sure, in Cary, like last year, but this time with my 911. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We will be ramping up communications in the next couple of weeks. Leith VW in Cary is again participating and can be meeting point for Caravan to Porsche at South Pointe. Let's try to beat last year's record. All gifts benefit Durham Rescue Mission and all toys go to local children.
If anyone is coming from the Triad or Burlington area, perhaps we can caravan? Shoot me a PM, or better yet an email. Keith and Greg, as always, thanks for organizing!
anyone want to grab lunch after the toy drive? and then go to the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh- to see the Art Deco Cars exhibit? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've already touched base with Keith, but...it looks as though I will not be able to attend this year. The meeting location (Porsche Southpoint) and times are unchanged. The Cary / Apex / Holly Springs caravan spot (Leith Volkswagen) and 9:00AM departure time is also unchanged. I will be making sure the Owens' family toy stash has been handed-off to either Keith or Jack McCausland prior to that Saturday.
We will miss you Greg! I have invited some friends with their 458's & 488's that will join too. Should be another great event.
I asked the guys at Road Scholars to advertise the toy drive at their inaugaral C+C this morning. Saturday Dec. 3rd at Porsche South Pointe. See everyone there. Unwrapped gift for boys and girls age 12 and under please and thanks.
I picked up a trunk-load full of toys with my girls Saturday night. I'll run them over to Leith VW after Thanksgiving. Very sad I won't be there this year!
Giving this a bump. Hope to see many of you at Porsche South Point in Durham this coming Saturday. Rain or Shine.
Sounds great - we will have some coffee and donuts at Leith VW in Cary (2300 Autopark Blvd / Cary 27511 - down the hill from Nissan and Preowned and right next door to Mercedes Benz) starting ~ 8. Last I heard the plan was to meet around 8 and roll out at 9. Let me know (name and car) if you plan on caravanning from VW and we'll watch out for you.
Yeah!! Getting it the week after the toy drive! Oh well. I have invited some other friends with 458's and I think Woody Byrd is joining as well in his new 488 spider. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Very cool - thanks for letting them know. Can't wait to see your 488 when you get it. Loved your 458 - very tastefully modded.
This is it just before shipment out of maranello. Courtesy from the atelier team in Maranello. It arrived in Newark today so with some luck and after PDI I can have it end of next week. Appreciate the kind words on the 458; have some small bit tasteful mods in mind for the 488 as well, incl a novitec exhaust and some CF bits. See you Saturday! Trunk is loaded with toys!
