More: The lambo rep said that during cornering, yes. In a straight line at certain speeds, he said the downforce is reduced 20% over the standard Huracan. Here's how he explained it... He said that by default, in the closed position, the winglets do nothing and the wing produces up to 750% more downforce in the rear than a Huracan. But when going in a straight line the winglets fully open and divert air away from and reduce hitting the exterior upper side of the wing. The way they do it is by diverting the air through a channel under and inside the wing. This actually creates lift with minimal drag and lightens the car. The net effect in the straights is minus 20% downforce over not having any aero at all. He said that even on the road this will be noticable. He claims the rear end will feel lighter and more playful than the Huracan when you want it to be, yet it will stick like glue in the corners when in track mode.

We'll see! I'm always skeptical of downforce claims. Nothing beats mechanical grip.

I can confirm yes was told the same increase 750% downforce which will significantly add grip in the corners.

More: Well, since they didn't give a number, here's how we can calculate it based on some current facts.

The last LP570-4 Superleggera produced 110lbs of rear downforce at it's top speed of 202 mph.
The LP570-4 SuperLeggera produces 50% more downforce than the standard Gallardo.
The Huracan produces 50% more downforce than the standard Gallardo using underside aero.

So the Huracan produces around 110lbs of rear DF at 202mph.
    750% of 110 is 825 and 750% more is 825+110 = 935lbs of DF at 202mph.
I don't know what this translates to at slower speeds, that's where the aero experts come in.

Eddie...did they mention pricing? One of these would look great next to our Aventador...

Way cheaper than I thought. Here in Australia, 580 is $375k, 610 is $440k, 610 Spyder is $485k and the Performante $525k.

in 2011 I bought a new 570-4 SL for 234k. IIRC the sticker was 20-25k more.

A near-new Huracan is in the $200s now and a 2011 SL is $175k. The sweet spot for the Huracan P is in the mid $200k range. More than that there are too many options that would be tempting..

Nearly bought a Huracan with 800 miles, sticker for 241. I had a deal for 201k but I couldn't get my wire out for a couple days because I was out of country and it moved. To give an idea of discounts. This was two weeks ago.

Can't really compare to the regular Huracan. Problem also is no one knows production numbers of the Perfomante. Perfomante won't be discounted off the bat, no way. It is in high demand. I just hope Lambo won't flood the supply with too many, which will then obviously drive the price down. I'm hoping they will keep the P production to 1000 or less. We shall see.

Not a chance for discount early, you're totally right. A lot rides on its performance numbers. If they claim a crazy ring number but independent tests don't reflect that (think SV) it will discount. If it really blows everything away then it may appreciate. Similar to 918. Once ppl figured out it was actually a monster even compared to P1 and LAF, price of used increased 30-40%.

918 now asks double MSRP, which is crazy. But yes, it is a proven car.
We will know in the next month how the Perf will ultimately perform. I don't think it will appreciate like the Ferraris do, but if they keep numbers reasonably low then it may have a chance in retaining some value.
I'm jumping into this car because I feel it has some groundbreaking technology, not as an investment by any means. But we all hope not to lose too much in the car game.
I'm not keeping track of Av SV values, but I do feel for what a special car it is, they made too many of them (over 1000). This will effect value more in the long term. I will hold my Murcie SV as there are probably some or less than 150 in the world.

Don't lose sleep...there will be another one.

If I were in the market the Huracan would be my choice vs the 570-4. The game was massively moved on with the H.

They will sell as many as people will buy. They won't limit production. Why would they?

There will be other versions of the Performante as there were other versions of the SL. Losing money goes with the game unless you buy a GT Porsche, specific Ferraris etc.

If SV Roadsters end up being the same value as my Aventador Roadster + Hurancan-P I may just consider the SV Roadster. Nothing on this earth like an Aventador Roadster. Nothing...

Agree there will be many more reiteration of the Huracan, already a Perfomante Spyder in the works. That's the problem with Lambo is they will probably make too many. Oh well.
As you say, we drive these to enjoy them.
What are SV roadsters going for these days? V12 in open air is intoxicating!

One guy just posted this over at mclife; the same one from the earlier posts:

I just saw the car in person and am convinced it really is the real deal. The presentation explained how it achieves the radical downforce in corners while essentially having lift in the straights as needed. Sorry guys you are all wrong, the aero design is truly revolutionary. They showed us a cutaway of the actually wing, it will change the way aero is approached in the future. I can't say any details because I signed an NDA, but the wing has a lot going on inside. Also, the wing is large and high up. Not as big as the ACR, but certainly one of the largest on a production car and the rake is aggressive. Think RS size. Camo pics don't depict the presence of this thing. The front end DF is also completely believable, a lot going on up there as well. You'll have to wait until Geneva for the details but I don't think Lambo is giving us BS with the Ring numbers. This car could easily be 30 seconds faster than the standard Huracan, I would call it a GT3 Lambo, it's VERY track focused.

I hope its as good as the hype but lambo has more of a history of making over stylized hotrods than serious performance cars so im skeptical
