Has anybody recently made a deposit for a 488 and been given a wait time for delivery? I have been told by 2 dealers 12 months and 12-18 months before final delivery.

Probably about right if you get an allocation. Nice to have two allocations from two dealers :)

Is that for the GTB? (The Spider is still being stated as 20 - 24 months AFAIK.)

Less than a year if dealer is willing to move things around. Say November.

Unless you want to spec it yourself, why not buy a used one? Plenty of them out there and I've already seen gtb's going for below msrp and spiders for msrp + 20-30k over.

Tons of used 488 out there. Check the McLaren Lambo dealer sites too.
Sometimes they don't post on Carguru.

There are several out there under--I saw one $20k under.

HOWEVER, they are highly optioned cars $355 stickers.

If you do some work you'll find them, here is an example... https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/685943967/overview/

What cars are listed for is not what they will sell for in most cases--so have to call and be ready to make offer and buy.

Most listed over msrp are asking price. You can just bargain with them below msrp. With some new models will be shown in the geneva next week, I think they will give you right away.

Just purchased a used 16 488 with 180 miles for 3K under MSRP. Didn't find too many dealers accepting under MSRP except for cars with some miles one them. Good Luck!

Have they given a reason for no allocation? Is this your first one?

UK - 4 months for a new GTB, just supply chain at Ferrari essentially. Caution - Mac 720 mind blowing, 488 Speciale may not even rival, so tread carefully on depreciation.

    1. First new one. I have owned Fcars since 2010 and always had them serviced there. I used to track them so I had plenty of service work and upgrades Had a 360 spider, then a 458 spider for the last 3 years. Being an owner and doing all your service there doesnt seem to matter.

    2. Apparently they have me on the $h1t list.

They probably (like many f car dealers) want flippers (1000 mile or less) not holders. I'd move on if I were you.

I'd move on as well. I bought my first ferrari in late 2015(458 spider), then got a 488 coupe from same dealer in May of last year and got my 488 spider this past dec. I sold both my 488 coupe and spider outside the dealership, I did offer it to them first. I know I'll never be a guy that gets the really limited cars, so I'm not playing the game. Also, all my cars were purchased from an out of state dealership, since my local dealership wanted me to play the game of buying ff's and california's, which I won't do.

I was told yesterday at Ferrari London while choosing my final spec that the GTB was now an 18month wait with the spider 24months. Not sure what to believe. Mine was ordered last July and should be ready at the end of this July. 458 prices are currently strong with last production high spec cars still nudging 200k sterling with the GTB starting at 184k
