Is it only going to be used for hauling, or a driver that you haul with. That makes a big difference to me. Vans have gotten better, but I'd rather not drive most everyday if it wasn't needed.

We have had pickups, and now the cargo van.

We love the cargo van, much better than a pick up...

You can put in tons of tools, and safely store them.

Hauls 4x8 plywood, drywall, atv's, lawn tractors, etc.

We also added a ladder rack.

And, I can leave the stuff in, even if it rains...

Tows the same as a pickup.

Only down side? Not as cool as a pick up.

If you get a cargo van, get one already fitted with tool racks, no side windows, and mesh on the windows for security...

I love ours. Replaced an f150...

I would get a used F250 and a MC trailer. I had a F250 for many years, and it was great. Pulled a 4 horse trailer all over the Rockies. It could haul a 17' motorcycle trailer with 2 dressers as fast as you want. Nobody who buys a truck ever says, "I wish I bought one with less towing capacity".

There is a reason the big three outsell the full sized Toyota-they are better trucks. Toyota builds great small trucks-full sized, not so much. I borrowed a new tundra to tow a musclecar for a magazine shoot. Very disappointed. Hard to beat the Ford or GMC and the Ram is also quite nice with some innovative features.

A long time ago, in another place, far, far away, I had a "friend" who had one of those hippie vans. Did you know a mattress fits perfectly in the back of a van?

I get that. But I can get a F350 van, no? Problem is pick-em-up trucks are big in Tejas. I mean really, really big. I was behind a truck once at a bank drive-through when for whatever reason Bubba decided to back up. I was in a Miata. I can still see that back bumper with the bull balls headed right for my head. Problem was there was a car behind me. So I lean on the horn, going eep, eep, eep, eeeeeeep. I was just about to bail when Bubba stopped. Hell, truck beds are so high now, I can't even get in them.

    So I dunno.

    Oh they have steps.

But like you said they're big in Texas. I see so many lots with loads of nice clean used trucks. You know these guys traded em off when the payments were done so they could get new, better, higher. Just sign on the dotted line. Must be good deals on used trucks around here. The state is awash in them.

Guy like you with $100's pouring out of his pockets should be able to get a good deal.

2 dressers? Both broke down? I've never towed a scooter anywhere. When I moved here from California, I threw all the cars on a truck and rode here. Went 500 miles last Sunday just to go see the gulf.

Hippie van? Not sure I get it... are you talking about a conversion van?

Cargo van is a contractor truck.. isn't that what you were talking about? Same as you pic, minus windows...

It's hard to beat the Ford trucks. I run a fleet of them in my business. They drive great and no repairs to speak of. Seem to hold value on resale but I run them into the ground. I got 2 at home. One is my driver and has 5k on it and the work truck has 275k on it.

Do some research. Diesels before 2007 have little to no smog. New diesels have mpg robbing 2nd cats, deisel exhaust fluid, and invasive egr that radically decrease oil life
