We should do a group photo, so I can remember everyone I met.

I did not see King Richard and his wife.... are they ok.
Also did not see Cathy Roush. What did these people do ... Sleep in. I mean if I can get up and be there at the crack dawn 10Am....

    Julie and David,
We had a fantastic time both Friday and Saturday! Especially trying to keep up with Karl's Audi and "The Vipers" going to Highland!
Here are some pics from our phones:[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]//uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170529/b86d745950fd18e8b2177ecbe2392ed5.jpg[/IMG

Took this pic from the "Porsche Perch". : ). That is my '87 Carmine Red 911 coupe in the foreground. It was such a cool event. Even for a German interloper like me!!!

Here are some photos from Friday starting with two at the hotel, and then the evening cocktail party. My favorite car there was not a Ferrari, but rather the Allard K3, a car not often seen. There were enough hors d'oeuvres to make dinner unnecessary, at least for me. I included the last photo to show the contrast between the sleek Ferraris and the definitely un-sleek BMW Isetta.

I'll probably post my Saturday photos tomorrow.

Hey man, thanks for sharing that N.A.R.T. shirt! Post a pic here will you? Hard to believe this home was built by a former N.A.R.T. driver, John "Buck" Fulp.

Peter Ryan and John Fulp drove this NART Ferrari Dino 248 SP at Sebring in 1962.

    and this

Ferrari NART driven by "Buck" Fulp/Peter Ryan. Experimental Category – 2969 — Chassis: 0794 — Weight: 835 kg. Career: Leaving at the hour (off-track)

    and this

During this period, the 268 was sold to Buck Fulp, though he continued to largely campaign the car on behalf of NART. A very successful race record soon shaped up, starting with the 1963 Bahamas Speed Weeks, where the SP finished 5th overall and 2nd in class at the Governor’s Trophy Race, and 11th overall with 2nd in class at the Nassau Trophy Race, both times driven by Fulp.

Speaking of Nassau, there is a story about them putting in a spare tank and filling it with rum for the return trip.

and there's Le Mans and more like this:

    https://www.si.com/vault/1966/07/04/608859/a-roundup-of-the-sports-information-of-the-week#

John (Buck) Fulp, a 27-year-old textile manufacturer from Anderson, S.C. driving a Lola-Chevrolet at an average speed of 101.46 mph, won the SCCA Watkins Glen 200-mile sports car grand prix and took the lead in the series (four races to go) for the U.S. Road Racing Championship.

He was one of the first Lola importers.

John, thanks for the photos and kind words! You are best and this year was the best so far, with the exception that Just Aircraft did not make it. Maybe next year they will. Love to see the airplanes landing in the field.

And you will have the 458! Always good to see you guys!

Julie and David: Melissa and I thoroughly enjoyed the event. Everything was simply top notch and, of course, Austin Meyer helped make it even better for me by letting me drive his gorgeous 458 Speciale from Columbia to Anderson and back. Whew. What an AMAZING machine! Thanks, Austin and David for setting it up for me. My first time at the Highlands with Austin driving. We are all lucky to still have licenses. Great food and fantastic people.
    Bravissimo! :)

Here you go. Had a couple folks asked me where I acquired it. I wanted to tell an exciting tale of winning it off a driver in a poker game in the pits at Laguna Seca with only pair of 5's. ; ) But alas, I told the truth...eBay.

It typically lives in a plastic bag most of the time and this is the first time I have worn it probably 3 years.

Mythical time in racing. Here is a picture of Buck with the man himself Luigi Chinetti, Sr., at we think, either Nassau or Sebring. Chinetti is the father of N.A.R.T. and Ferrari North America.

Those ribs were awesome. I hope they don't stick to me like they did to the containers.

I left a bit early for Highlands since I had to make a stop and enjoyed a nice solo drive, although route 28 should have a few passing lanes added to avoid having to follow slow traffic for mile after mile. When I arrived in Highlands, I was lucky to find a space almost directly in front of the restaurant!
