Very cool Have you seen the 308 conversion? I'm looking forward to doing that to mine when petrol disappears.
well, you say that....BUT...and this is serious (for once) yes all the noises and feel are part of the buzz of owning this car....but I bone up just looking at it...it's beautiful! If and when the time comes that there is just no way to run the mechanicals for it, either through a lack of fuel or parts or expertise, then I think going EV is the only thing that would save it from the scrap heap. Anyone got any better ideas?
The world won't run out of oil in the next hundred years, consumption will peak in decades then start to decline, in part because of the transition from oil fired electricity to gas. There is vastly more gas underground than oil and vastly more oil used by industry than motor vehicles. Petrol will get more expensive, as govts pile on taxes to pay for the renewables folly, but it will be available for a very long time. After that will come alternatives made from natural gas: LPG, methanol, etc.
You may be right...I have no clue about that, but that doesn't mean petrol will be socially acceptable OR available. Taxes?? They'll just pile it on to electricity and gas instead...simples

I wish they would (and Ferrari, and Lamborghini, etc. etc.) but it'll never happen. It pisses me off that they supposedly limit these cars to "special" people who have a "real passion" for the brand yet they drive them for two weeks then sell them for a profit which is several times what real passionate car people make in a year. It's poor form. (And yes, I am jealous). Yep. 911? Yawn. Dime a dozen.
I'm enjoying watching the additions to this description of a very overpriced 996 as it continues to not sell (I think it's been about 4 or 6 months now): 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera 996 Manual MY02 Cars For Sale in QLD - CarPoint Australia

We're not allowed to state the obvious, but we all know the truth. For a scientific and evidence-based explanation, I recommend reading "The Bell Curve". Obama famously condemned this book without having read it.
