@Lel...thank you for sharing.
The 22nd Miura is an early Miura P400, chassis number 3021, fitted with engine number 1109, completed at Sant Agata on June the 1st 1967, to Karl Foitek in Switzerland. If you are in the market for a restored Miura, please contact me offline. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, last wekend was a meeting of legends in Prague. At these meeting was possible to see one Miura - see attachments. Would somebody identify the seriál number? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Please feel free to PM me the info or post here. I know of a firm in Germany that is manufacturing individual alloy panels for the front clip as well, but we are really hoping someone somewhere has an original SV clip for sale. Anyone???
does somebody know the VIN of Macari's Miura S to be fully restored ? https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/lamborghini/miura/1968/468349 Image Unavailable, Please Login
This Miura looks much-modified from original standard specification, and IMO is a good full-restoration candidate.
Is it true that #3513 is a Miura P400 in RHD that used to belong to the Sultan of Brunei and used to wear the UK registrations WEE55K? Thanks. Robert
Correct, its a P400, and not anywhere near the end of P400 production either. My records show: Color - Giallo/Blu Engine number - 1769 Production Number - 154 Completion Date - March the 11th 1968 Dealer - Lamborcar for Pigoli Many of the P400 components appear missing or changed over the years, so a restoration will involve not inconsiderable effort beyond that of a car that has all its original components present & preserved.
Does anybody have a photo of an Azzurro Mexico colored Miura? Or at least a paint sample? Or the differences between the lights blues: azzuro cielo, azzurro fiat, azzurro mexico,... Many thanks,
Gaetan, Off the 6x Miura produced in Azzurro Mexico, none kept its color... here is an Espada in that original color ! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
All correct Robert. First owner the Sultan who ascended the throne October 1967 at the age of 21 following Sandhurst training. Miura #185 completed 31 May 1968, then he was crowned August 1968. Interesting period for him ! Later owned by Le Mans winner Duncan Hamilton.
Seems to be a lot odd with this car, what do you think it would take to correct it and bring it back? Does it still retain a P400 engine or did they swap that as well?
I can't answer either question without inspecting the car myself. But, from images alone, you can see that many of the P400 components were replaced to make it look like a P400S, it even has an SV front bumper. IMO, this car will be a major restoration challenge, that said, nothing is impossible.
Steven, believe me its not the only thing that was CUT on this poor Miura! They took the hacksaw to the rear lower bodywork as well. But, all can be made good again.
Miura thread has gone quiet for too long, and I've been meaning to ask this question for a while. Below are two Miura P400s WGC526G is white and RHD taken in 1969 at Lamborghini UK (photo by Bob - you know who you are) WGC527G is orange and LHD taken by me in the Summer of 1991 at Silverstone. Does anyone know the identity of either car, and why the number plates are one apart - it is easy to assume the orange car was imported at the same time as the white car, but with Lamborghinis you never know! Any ideas? Many thanks Robert W Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The photo was not taken by Bob,it was taken by a mechanic working at Lamborghini in Alie Street London in 68/69,I was given it by Colin Clarke along with some other pics which we promised not to put on the internet. The photo of the white Miura in the picture belonged to Twiggy and is photographed in a famous picture that Joe had put on this site The orange miura is LHD and was rebuilt by Omricon Engineering, it has since been sold, maybe Joe knows where it is, as for the number plates all I can think of is that Lamborghini were issued with a few numbers that were consecutive at the time,I also think the orange car was the first Miura in the UK but I am not 100% sure The Blue Daytona reg number 4040 KB was mine
Bob posted the first photo on another forum. WGC527G Miura P400 in orange is #3027, it turns out. The white Miura belonged to Twiggy? Interesting - which P400 car did she own? 3961 is a lime green Miura S with stripes known as the Twiggy car. I wondered if WGC526G car was #3516 when it was originally white/bla pre-Omicron SV upgrade and plate change to VAB11G?
