I've been a member here for 11 years, since 2006. I have always dreamed of owning a Ferrari one day. Did a lot of reading here getting to know these cars, what it costs to acquire & maintain, known issues, things to watch out for, upgrades, etc. Saved money for a few years as I am not rich by any means. Finally purchased my 1st Ferrari in 2014. A pristine condition 2003 360 Spider with only 10,000 miles. Loved everything about that car. Sold my 360 Spider 2 years later and purchased a brand new 2015 BMW M4. An amazing car and I love everything about it except for two things I just cant live with. The hood looks like a mustang (Nothing wrong with a mustang. I just want BMW to look like a BMW.) And the exhaust sounds like fart no matter what after market exhaust I can put on. So I sold my M4 two months ago and time for my next car. Simply put, nothing like a Ferrari. The body style is a rolling piece of art and the engine exhaust sound is just incredible. Finally found this 2006 Ferrari F430 Spider with 26K miles, brand new clutch, etc. in Scottsdale, Az. (I live in Everett, Wa close to Seattle.) My wife and I flew to Scottsdale last Friday to see the car. It's exactly as the seller described so I bought it. Im all smiles again. Let the mods begin! I will for sure be upgrading my car and as always will share DIY info here. Here's a couple of photos and a link to a short 2 minute video. To everyone here that is so kind & have helped me when I have questions - THANK YOU! I hate to say this Dan, but she had your name written all over it from the git-go! Lovely car and looks like an FCA member owned it, even better. Congratulations! Glad your back in the fold Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
This was a delightful post to read. Dan your other posts in the past are informative and helpful to others. You seem to be a very unselfish and friendly man and deserve that beauty for sure! Congratulations! And welcome back in the gang. These cars are addictive; if you once had one, you will always feel the need to get back in!
Many thanks to all of you: Jes, Sam, Marquette, Bob!, Kreh, Mark and Mikael! Sincerely appreciated. I appreciate all the kind words. I dream, dream big and put steps in place to make my dream come true. I'm blessed with a great family, great friends and great job. I try to be helpful and kind to others and life has been very good to me. Life is too short. I say give back when you can and enjoy the great things in life before we kick the bucket. All the best to all of you. Dan
Congratulations! There are many fine cars, but as you now know first hand, there is something extra special about Ferrari and if that is something that is important to you, then nothing else will do. The car is beautiful! And so is your advice. Well done, enjoy it!
Congrats. I was looking at an 07 coupe a few years ago with the same color combo and challenge wheels which I think is the way to go. I try to drive my 430 as often as I can but with a baby it's impossible to find the time, so even a trip to the grocery store or picking up food is a treat. Love the car and wish I could have more seat time. Enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi Skim, The car is still at Scottsdale as it needs service. I hope its all done by end of next week so I can have it picked up and shipped here to Seattle ASAP. During PPI, guess what they found - The famous cracked headers and cracked exhaust bracket!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Indi mechanic will be welding everything so its driveable. Then my first mod is to install Agency Power Headers and Kline Innovation SS exhaust. I have already reached out to James of VividRacing and hopefully, he gives mea great deal on headers and exhaust package. I will need to pick your brain on any installation tips, things to watch out for and what special tools I will need. I have an air compressor. I will see you at ERTC once its here. Kindly eMail me or PM me for any helpful tips on headers and Kline exhaust install please. Thank you! Dan
