I've seen these, they speak to the cult-following these cars have.

There's an English translation of that Manga I saw on FB.
The guy was given an LP400 by a rich old businessman and he raced it against an F355 on the highway.

Exactly! I saw it as well, but the translation I saw was only for the first volume, and there are 26 in the series!

I spotted what I thought was the same car (except the one I saw had silver wheels) on the 405 in Long Beach ~ 1pm today

Probably me. My wife and I drove to Monterey from San Diego and back. Yesterday we drove from Santa Barbara to San Diego and were on the 405 around that time. It's Interesting driving a Countach for a week as your only car (or as I kept referring to it "our daily driver").

Barry Gibb's Countach was a 1983 LP500S, which he took delivery of new from Portman Lamborghini London in January 1983, finished by the works in Rosso Siviglia/Crema.

He kept it for 5 years till 1988, and early that year, I popped in to Portman's West London Service center to see my first Countach (1983 LP500S CLA12515) being serviced. There was Barry's car and I have to say it struck me as the most immaculate Countach I had seen to date, I wanted to shake the owner's hand! I remember thinking, whomever owns this Countach really knows how to get in and out of it, the interior was simply like new. Then Del Hopkins told me it was Barry's car and I thought, wow, that is a beauty, the man knew how to keep it immaculate.

Later, the car was registered A 538 DJH after he sold it, and, my notes tell me its currently in Malaysia registered WJP 88.

Humm, twenty three empty beer bottles on a Countach wing with room for at least one more.
24 beers in a case, 24 beer bottles can fit on a Countach wing. Coincident? No I don't think so.

That's interesting, a little odd perhaps on the Anniversary. It's easily corrected so I wouldn't feel uncomfortable experimenting with them.

factory used some old pics of a 400S with flag mirrors for the qv brochure with white car...
so they only put the rear view of a quattrovalvole

    tipical vintage lamborghini stile! :)
same car was also in the 5000S brochure

on the same matter: the owner manuals for 5000s and QV cars still had the red series 1 LP400S on the cover

LP400 #1120152 started its life wearing a rare Ferrari color, Azzurro Dino Metallizzato, in November 1975.
Originally delivered new to Marcel Willemin's "Garage du Bout du Monde", a famous Swiss Lamborghini dealer in Geneva, this Countach ended up in California brought by another well-known importer, Albert Mardikian (Trend Imports) circa 1978.

#1120152 got a new black paint and Mardikian modified this LP400 his usual way: with a Countach S body kit, smoothed into the bodywork, and rolling on typical 80s tunning chrome wheels.
Later, #1120152 appeared briefly in the comedy "How I Got Into College" in 1989.

Sold in 1992 and exported to Japan, where it was restored back to its narrow guise, it is this particular full-black LP400 that has inspired Haruto Umezawa for his Countach manga series! ;)

    Fantastic story, thanks for sharing.

I am in the middle of the reading of the series and I am amazed at how many nice details are crammed in the story: differences betw. all the different toolkits to cite the last one I came accross.
Unfortunaltely I don't read japanese, so I am sure I am missing a lot of things, but in any case, it is a great series for the Countach lover.

Thanks for this, that makes sense. Leave it to Lamborghini to reuse the same illustration for everything!
