David, is that the LM that I saw in Luigi Chinetti Jr's garage in CT in the late 70's, early 80's?

The car was there because of Francois Sicard, he was going to restore it or work on it. He also did work for the Chinettis and still might? I'm not sure if there is a connection.

of course; Francois and Nereo Iori were the two lead mechanics for Chinetti's NART. Iori did the full mechanical restoration of my 365GTC speciale. Last time I saw Francois was at lunch following an Adirondack road rally from Saratoga Automobile Museum to the Lake George Club. He was riding shotgun to Denise McCluggage, driving her pale yellow Sebring NART Spyder two cars behind the 412.

Iori was my Mentor, the man that taught me my craft, and my very dear friend. I tell my son that Iori, Coco Chinetti, and Ivo Brillo were all at his Baptism.
Francois and I are friends but its' different. I worked for P3 after Francois left.

David, my throat got tight when I read yours. What recollections. In 1981 or 82 I decided to do a full mechanical restoration of my GTC. I put it in the hands of a fellow named Dean Nastahowski - his Company was Imported Cars of Connecticut - and I did so because Iori was working for him and I specified that only Iori could work on my car. Dean went out of business when the GTC was less than half done. Iori took the car home and finished it in his own garage. Couple of times I drove up from the City to watch Iori work. He line-bored the crank and all four camshafts BY HAND. And fitted new Lobro half-shafts that Ferrari had introduced in the 365GTC and then the Daytona. Iori gave me back a flawless car that I miss still. Still miss him too, a supremely special man.

I'm sure you will remember this photo which is buried in this thread somewhere. I used to work with him at in the small two car garage next to his home. I may have done some work on your car?
I ended up with a 308GT4 from the garage in Norwalk. The had broken the rear window and dented the roof of the car while removing the motor. The car belonged to an Architect named Robert Jones. I too cleaned up the mess and ended up with a good customer.
There are hundreds of great stories to tell about this man I adored.

I redid components for Iori like repaint cam covers in wrinkle black.
My in-laws had a bakery in Cos Con and we'd use the ovens to heat cylinder heads for valve guide removal, etc. I vividly remember rebuilding a 275GTB/4 for Enrique Senior.
Willy Stingone repainted the car afterwards.

Can someone list the c/n of the 275 #41 in the last pic?

This has to be one of my all-time Top 10 favorite 275 pics.
    What a road warrior. :)

    Merci beaucoup!

Just checked on barchetta. It seems to have gone from Kroymans in the group purchase to Tom Price who apparently is/has put it back to original configuration.
Interestingly, I 'know' this car as it was a Road & Track Salon feature when owned by Skip Berg and painted giallo fly or something near that.

This would be a wonderful car to have. Perhaps even better with original scars, etc.

    That website is wrong.
In 2012 #10311 went to a Swiss billionaire who kept it a little more than two years until it was sold via an UK dealer to a collector in USA (mid-west).

Thanks Marcel. I hope whoever has it is taking the car back to Avorio and the spec it raced under in period.

No need to "take it back to Avorio"!! It still IS Avorio.
As said, that website is full of errors.
