Best I've been able to find out is that the Nuuanu Pali overlook and highway might suit a magazine cover best. Thoughts? Pros - It is close to the Ferrari dealer and I imagine they don't want a lot of downtime for their rentals. Also looks very pretty with scenic views of both mountains and ocean. Cons - can't find a place to stop except the overlook and it might be crowded. Also, might want to consider a beach shot still.
It does get crowded there but I'll bet there is a good time to catch it. I just don't know when that might be.
Tantalus lookout is a great place for scenic shots since you can get Diamond Head in the background. The H3 lookout is good, along with Sandy beach, Makapuu beach and the Diamond Head lookout.
I always loved Kaena point. Both north shore, and Waianae side. I think sleepy little Haleiwa town early on a slow sunday would give you a very "Hawaii" look that could be mistaken for another island. Damn, now you got me all nostalgic, missing the islands....
Nuuanu Pali drive has a few places where you could probably pull off some nice shots, but its going to be impossible to get a good photo set near the lookout at any reasonable time.
