    Hello my Dutch friends, I'm trying to get in contact with Francois Koopal, who was the original owner of My Countach QV

    I'm not sure if Francois is on this board, or if any of you have contact details for this gentleman? From web based searching, he seems to have been an active member of the Netherlands Ferrari club.

    My dad did some work with him 30 years ago but I don't know him personally. His 550 Barchetta is well-known in the Ferrari Club Netherlands.

    If I were you, I'd send a letter to the FCN with a request to forward it on to him.

    Hi Onno and many thanks for your response. As suggested, I've contacted The Ferrari club and will await their reply. I'll also try the company you suggested.

    Looking all over the web, it looks like Francois did some rally driving. Most of the limited web content is based around this activity. I did track down a blog link from a 1988 Ferrari Netherlands club meeting, which shows Francois turning up in the Countach. Wonderful to be able to track down some previous history.

    I do indeed remember when my dad did business with him (around that time, late '80ies) that he was an active rally driver.

    I heared last summer that his Barchetta was also gone. Don't know him personally.

    Update. FCN kindly gave me an old email address from 2011, which is when he left the club. This alas, seems no longer valid. But has pointed me in another direction.

    Also, using LinkedIn I was able to track down a colleague who worked at Fortis Coatings BV. But he did not know the current wereabouts of Francois.

    The search continues, it's almost like he has left the planet :)

    Finally, thanks to those who have PM'ed me with info. Very useful.
