Hello from the U.S. Can someone answer this question....Was there ever a Ferrari dealer in Belgium called GTM? The owner was Guy Trigaux. Thank you.
When would that have been Jack? Where did you come up with the name? No such dealer in recent history as far as I know... Gr. Martin
Martin, Guy and his son Gregory have a highly respected shop in South Carolina, USA, called GTM & Son. I was under the impression that he was a Ferrari dealer in Belgium in the 1980s, but it is possible that I misunderstood. Jack
He raced with lots of cars (incl. two Daytona's?) in Belgium ... just check Google ... (for instance: http://www.racingsportscars.com/driver/photo/Guy-Trigaux-B.html)
Thanks, Mel. Yes, I am aware of his racing career, but was just curious if there is a connection with a Ferrari dealership. Jack.
According to a Club Ferrari Belgio magazine dating 1991, G.T.M. was one of four exclusive agents for Ferrari in Belgium, with Garage Francorchamps the importer. G.T.M. was located in Alsemberg at the Alsembergsesteenweg 1001.
I have met with Guy (father) and Gregory (son) Trigaux at GTM and Son near Greenville, South Carolina, USA. Guy was in fact a Ferrari main dealer in Belgium, and their shop in the U.S. is very impressive with at lot of very nice cars being worked on there, including the ex-Niki Lauda 288GTO. GTM did the mechanical rebuild and restoration of 08545 for me, they did a fantastic job, just won its fourth platinum at the FCA annual meet in Columbus. The car runs great, and they were great to deal with. It is shown on the site, which reminded me to add my two cents here. Malcolm
