"He who hesitates is lost". I would like to find a few copies of the tribute to Bob Wallace, The Man Who Married Sportscars. I've contacted Jasper but there are no remaining copies. If anyone has some or can direct me to a source I will be most appreciative. Thanks to all.

Sorry to hear that, why didn't you contact me after the first time? I asked you for a some patience, but that has passed by far.

I will start an investigation with PostNL !

For some reason a few books (2 so far) sent to the USA did not reach their recipient.
However, they were sent registered so they should be able to be tracked down once authorities (in this case likely the US Mail, since tracking show they left The Netherlands) are 'forced' to look for them :)

Both books that were 'lost' during transit have finally been delivered by the USPS.

One of the recipients, that did not complain here, has told me so himself, upon arrival.
Of the other, I had to learn through PostNL today, 4 days later.

Anyway, this means 100% of the books shipped has reached their owners !

    Olivier,

If Cristina is open to clarifications for the next edition I have information about the photo on page 100. The picture was taken by Steve Rosa. Dick Lipson owned and drove that car. I'm at the back pushing.

    Riddell's comments are spot on.

i first meet bob when i dropped by his shop while i was at phoenix for the US GP. When speaking to him, i got the feeling he grew tired of guys with deep pockets dropping by wanting this and that on done with theirs cars not know much technically, he rather not waste words conversing with them. Bob is have an reputation of being cold and quite, but once he figures you out the crustiness wore off and would speak with in depth openly and honestly.

We later spoke over the phone a few times years later shortly before he passed away. i ran by the idea that i wanted to do urraco rallye replica. he pretty much said it wasnt a wise venture if you want to be competitive given the durability of the drivetrain and the difficulty of ridding weight with that platform. I relished our conversations and how he took the time to go into detail of the car attributes and faults. if anyone would know it would be him! in fact he suggested instead to build track car out of a 308 very much like car in the photo above which he prepared. I he said the drivetrain was pretty much bullet proof. I recall this car was pretty successful and well known in the region's races.

Very nice packaging, a nice tribute to the man.

However, I wonder why the publisher altered the original iconic image for the book's cover?

Here below is that original image, taken by Franco Zagari, whose archives went to the Matt & Di Spitzley in the UK.
