On Friday evening I had a conversation with an employee of Pirelli. He has in the past worked for a division that handled special tires. He assured me 345/60/17 Scorpions are still in production. They make small lots of them from time to time and have an exclusive contract to only sell them to Lamborghini for distribution to their dealers. There is no distribution to any other source.

Is there a way to contact the person?
I'm curious on the models, and if BK tires can be remanufactured again.

No, only the replacement Scorpion. I suppose they would but the minimum order would be very big and it would have to go through Lamborghini. If you want a couple hundred BK's talk to your local Lambo dealer.

The original sandlips were $1500 each back in 1990,

I bought a full set of new "none sand lip" SCORPION 345/60 17 four months ago, for what I thought was a lot of money, I am now sure that it was the right move, I wouldn't buy a LM without the correct tires & not 20 year old correct either

I paid 11,200 euro's for my set of five YOM 2009 but never fitted, I have had all the rims refurbished, all looking good, the BFG 315/70 rubbed on the l/h bulkhead when on lock, I drove me mad.

From time to time Lamborghini does a promotion and you can get the tires for a little better than retail... so talk to your dealer if you need a set.

If only they could offer both: Scorpion Zero and Scorpion BK with sand lip...

The sand lips make the car look better from the front POV.

I still have a set of 5 stashed away as well, the close to 20K dealer price is surely ridiculous.
BTW There's only the occasional production run and lucky enough I was able to get my hands on 10 pcs.

I heard a rumour that Longstone Tyres has a new batch of Pirelli Scorpion tires in the correct size for the LM002. Please let us know if this is true!
