Wasn't he a Lamborghini guy? I recall his name coming up a few times here. Name: Toby Smith, 46.
Jay Kay owned Miura SV 4972 and had a love-hate affair with it. He also owned a Diablo SE30 which he crashed. In the last 15 years though, Jay Kay has been much more well-known for his ownership of Ferraris, his special-order Enzo & LaFerrari most prominent amongst them.
Oh man... I hadn't heard this... I still listen to his music a lot... he was ahead of his time. EDIT: Seeing now that Toby Smith died.... not Jay Kay.
Indeed, it started life as a LHD car, its going back to the way it was. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Me too. Maybe a mod can edit the title. RIP to Toby. I like the Wiki definition of Jamiroquai's sound - acid jazz. Never thought about it, but that's a good way to describe their sound. T
One of my favorites from back them (Jay Kay singing, co-wrote by Toby Smith): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtual_Insanity [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Et9b7LWfnxQ[/ame]

Toby was the guy responsible for making me love the sound of vintage keyboards. He was a phenomenal player, and co-wrote my favorite Jamiroquai songs. I was very sad to hear of his passing. Too Young To Die indeed. Here's one of many great moments of his: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAwbaIrsizA[/ame]
I thought his bodyguard crashed the SE30, not Jay Kay himself? The car was shipped from the US back to the UK for the recording of one of his music videoclips for the single 'Cosmic Girl', but during the offloading of the car the guy who drove it at that occassion asked Jay if he could drive it a few miles, during his little 'spin' he lost control over this magnificent rear wheel drive masterpiece and crashed it.
A guy from the company which was hired to transport the car for the Cosmic Girl video wanted to drive the SE30 and Jay Kay let him. The guy then proceeded to wreck it. Jay Kay luckily wasn't in the car at the time.
Jay Kay was in Episode 7 (Season 24) of Top Gear and told the story of the wrecked SE30 and the 'backup' car they got to finish the filming. I won't spoil it for you.
Damn! Now Jay isn't really not going to want to go on tour. Sigh... https://vimeo.com/81624 Still cracks me up
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRKc_AgAniI[/ame] This is a classic one too!Jay Kay.... Rip Toby.
RIP! When Andecorp Invited me over for a second time, I bought a Jamiroquai CD to cruise to in the Dialbos.. at the time I did not know I was to be driving it on my own. Love their music! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Love that color. Did you buy that Trump diablo? LOL That's the only other one I've seen in that color.
Buy? I think I can only afford the stereo deck of that car. That is one of the 4 Diablos Andecorp has in his garage. He also has an Aventador SV Roadster. IT is a FANTASTIC colour I gotta say. Lemans Blue. Just like Trumps Roadster
