Aventador!
Sorry folks, no pics, no cameras allowed & we had to surrender our cam-phones as usual. Singapore is the first country to view this working prototype. Stephen was here for presentation.
One word = impressive! 6.5L, 700Bhp, 680Nm @ 5500rpm & redlines @ 8250. New 7 speed single clutch gearbox with two automode & 50 ms shifts! But get this, Carbon monoque chassis & F1 style suspension on the rear ![]() Car is 229kg lighter & 70% more rigid! 4WD. Many new gadgets too for the cabin. Car will be shown in Geneva Auto next spring. Get ready your cheque book! Oh, forgot to mention this. 0-100 in 2.9 secs & 350Km/h top speed. Last edited by SFchallenge; 10-30-2010 at 08:44 AM. |

Well OK, but as always, the most important question is:
Do the doors go up? |

Yes, but slightly different to other cars (seen on spy shots and from someone at the viewing).

Love the stats , top end faster than an enzo now rt ? 0-60 blows it away too ... Cant wait for pix . Funny thing is this car will be 1/2 the price of the Reventon lol ... Never understood the idea for producing that car . The looks are cool but the performance is that of an LP 640 . What a waste of $ imo ........

Yeah and this engine along with the car it goes into will probably cost north of $500,000.

It's so you could buy a regular Murci with the money you saved by not buying a Reventon.

It looks very good. Modern and not so slab sided as the 640. A bit more rounded all around
but just a bit. Doors still swing up but now also opens sideways at a small angle too. Meaning it doesnt go up completely vertical like today's car. Much easier to get in and out. TFT display for speedometer, and other screens. Very clear and legible and a gorgeous center console much like a fighter jet IMO. Start button has red cover that you must flip up first. The engine note is great, even at idle. The frontal view has prominent Y shaped LED lighting...sexy! Apologies,,,dont mean to hijack Jon's thread. Just sharing my impressions of the car. |

We're being quoted S$1.45million which is USD1.12million @ current exchange rate & about 50 cars sold! Don't freak out, it's the norm down here. The regular Lp640 costed us S$1.3m so it's about 10% higher than last which means it should be about US$300K. It has some DNA from Estoque & Reventon. I would say it's more angular with a Zagato styled "bubble" roof & a lot of hexagonal forms all over but I find that there's too many breaklines & looks a little busy. 19" front & 20" rears. DCT is too heavy, will have 20-30Kg penalty & too smooth according to them. They like to keep the "thump" feel. I don't suppose there'll be a RWD version. 700Bhp NA & 1.4ton is quite a handful. To be honest, I think it's a "steal" for the technologies for us here. An Enzo would have costed us about US$3mill to register back then! Btw, car is presented in a pearl dark orange & chassis #0029 the production car will have some details finalised.
